DKE Toys SDCC 2017 Batch #2 - Little Lazies, Jason Adams and DrilOne

by
Welcome to the second BATCH of DKE Toys SDCC 2017 CON STUFF!

Yoclops by Little Lazies

This is one of the most special exclusives DKE has ever had. Each piece has been hand sculpted by Leah Lester of Little Lazies. No two are exactly the same but they are so close to one another that it's kind of hard to imagine that they aren't cast and she made 50 of them!!! They are signed and numbered on the bottom of the figure and carded in a package she designed and are only $55.

Bio: Little Lazies are weird, little, clay creatures made by Leah Lester, a monster maker living in Seattle, WA. How did it all start? Leah was a full time cake decorator who very much enjoyed sculpting out of edible paste for the cakes she created. One sunny day in June 2010 she said to herself, "I want to make a monster for the top of this cake!" So she did just that... Soon after, her friends started encouraging her to create these characters into clay; something that they could keep for a lifetime. So with that, Leah bought some clay and with lots of practice, experimenting, character developing and imagination her monsters evolved into what they are today - the Little Lazies

Job Wars by Jason Adams

Hand cast and painted 3.75" carded figure. Signed and numbered edition of 20. $55

Bio: From Fort Worth, Texas, Jason is an approved Lucasfilm artist (Topps Star Wars sketchcards), Marvel artist (Upper Deck sketchcards), and has done cover work for BOOM!- Studios (Bravest Warriors).  Influenced by early punk rock, Jason employs DIY style that uses hand cut stencils, spray paint, and markers to create unique original pieces.  When he’s not spray painting, Jason also works in the custom toy world creating hand poured resin action figures.

Soviet Tank Dunnys from DrilOne

by
DrilOne recently made a batch of Soviet Tank custom Dunnys available through his online store. Initially, the Dunny tanks were created to go along with the Kidrobot Art of War Dunny Series release and were highly sought after, since they were only included with DrilOne's AP Dunny sets. Now, DrilOne is making about 20 or so tanks available, each for $100 with free shipping in the US. Now, everyone should place an order and sell these out. That way, DrilOne can keep busy making these awesome little tank guys. Hopefully, this will lead to DrilOne creating an 8" version and maybe even a 20" version (of course both should be RC controlled!).

KMNDZ's One of One June 14 Is Taking shape

by

KMNDZ's first curatorial project, One of One: World's Greatest Custom Toy Show is taking shape for its June 14th opening at DA Center for the Arts. Some WIP's and completed pieces are popping up over social media and press release info facilitated by the fantastic Paris Woodward.

DrilOne

ONE OF ONE: World’s Greatest Custom Toy Show50 Artists. 1 Amazing Gallery. 1 Incredible Show.

ONE OF ONE is artist KMNDZ’s first curated show, featuring a variety of artists all sharing their interpretation of what a toy is. The vinyl platform has been gaining rapid popularity and is what inspired KMNDZ's toy theme, however participating artists will be showcasing their talents in whatever medium and scale they want.
Jill Ricci

"I don’t see a difference between painting a DIY vinyl versus painting on a canvas. In my mind the medium carries just as much weight as a traditional painting. My expression is the same regardless, as is the amount of love and care I pour into a piece. It wasn’t until last summer that I started to explore painting vinyl toys. Needless to say it’s addictive and it’s been teaching me more about light and shadow. It’s even influencing the way I think about painting on canvas.
For ONE OF ONE I’ve brought together 50 killer people from different walks of art. Graffiti artists, vinyl artists, fine artists, and graphic artists. I wanted my first curating experience to be memorable; a show that would lend itself to being loud and fun, even including the food (if you haven’t had The Reuben Truck’s pastrami yet, you’re in for a treat).  There will be a three-piece jazz band from Guam playing some reggae music. And if all goes to plan, every wall in the dA will get some big mural love from some of the participating artists. Ultimately the thanks goes to Bunny Gunner for believing in me and approaching me with the concept. It makes sense and I didn’t see it until it was placed in front of me. The dA Center for the Arts makes for a killer venue being in a neighborhood that supports the arts, and the high ceilings will give us breathing room to flex the talent in the show.

I look forward to this exhibition, and as with all my projects, I’ll be sure to leave nothing for the swim home."
- KMNDZ

Candy Micro Drones and Gas Mask Magnets by Drilone

by
Drilone still has some Candy for sale in his store. With a bunch of Monster Kolor resin dye left, Drilone decided to make a bunch of GID Candy colored Gas mask Magnets and Micro Drones. Each piece costs $20 with shipping included in the US, shipping is extra everywhere else. The Gas Mask Magnets will come with eyes, while the GID feature of the resin pieces may be induced by either UV or just regular lighting. Drilone has also allowed customers to request a certain color, although not promised. Also, if you purchase more than 1 piece of either the Gas Mask Magnet or Micro Drone, Drilone assures that you will receive different colors.

Drilone will probably keep making the Micro Drones and Candy Gas Mask Magnets until he runs out of dye. Help make that happen faster by purchasing a few of these great resin pieces.

Colortastic Gas Mask Magnets by DrilOne

by
DrilOne recently created some 2" Gas Mask magnets for everyone to purchase and enjoy. The masks were made from the same mold used to create the gas masks for DrilOne's Drone figures. To make these gas masks even better, Drilone has painted them a variety of different colors, added a strong magnet and also added some nicely painted eyes.

These Gas Mask Magnets are selling blind bagged style, for $20 plus shipping. As of right now, there are a few of these Colortastic Gas Masks left. While browsing around DrilOne's store, collectors can also pick up a Mega Munny, a soviet Gas Mask Dunny, Gas Mask Drone, and more. Go check it out and support a great artist by making a purchase.
