MunkyKing is proud to present the Citrus Sherbert colorway of The Broken Promise, Ausgang’s second urban vinyl release with MunkyKing featuring his trademark psychedelic cat as designed by Dave Bondi. The Broken Promise presents a four-armed bifurcating cat shaking hands with itself while simultaneously flashing the Hindu hand gesture that represents a lion-faced incarnation of Vishnu, the Great Protector Simhamukha. So, although a mutually beneficial promise seems to have been made between the two figures, each one seeks security, aware that the other can still back out of the deal.
About the Artist:
Anthony Ausgang is a Los Angeles-based Low Brow artist, writer, and musician best known for his artwork featuring psychedelic cats. His artistic production ranges from custom painted automobiles, acrylic paintings and commercial illustration, to video game character design and sportswear. In addition to exhibiting his paintings in galleries and museums throughout the United States, Europe, Australia and Japan, Ausgang has designed artwork for the bands and musicians MGMT, Green Day, David Lee Roth, the Boredoms, Perry Farrell, Sonic Boom, Martin Rev, and Buckshot LeFonque. PIG Records in Seattle, Washington publishes the Ausgang comic book series Swizzle and in 2020 released the audiobook version of his book The Browser. Ausgang also plays turntables and modified guitars in the Ambient/Psyche band Cat Museum.

But now these elders are targets of hatred, vitriol, and violence. The time for silence is long over.
YEYE is the second installment of the Truth to Power line of designer toys following THE MESSENGER, a tribute to Colin Kaepernick’s historic protest. MunkyKing has collaborated with YARMS design studio to recreate the likeness the company founder’s grandfather in vinyl.
