Preorder SprayeeQ 5-inch DIY Vinyl Spray Can Mini Qee by Toy2R

by
http://ss1.us/a/QtUP29pc

PREORDER shipping July/August 201
The SprayeeQ by Toy2R has always been one of the rarest 5" Mini Qees. Very few artists have been able to get their hands on one in years past, and we always thought that was a shame. They're adorable little spray can platforms!

We looked around this year and couldn't find any of these these fantastic DIY figures by Toy2R on the market any longer... so we had Toy2R make a batch for us!

Shake em and they make a spray can sound! Grab a bunch and paint em up in your own style! We just added a 6-pack option at a reduced price.

  • 5 inches tall
  • vinyl
  • DIY Mini Qee figure
  • articulated at shoulders and neck
  • produced by Toy2R for Tenacious Toys
  • currently exclusive to Tenacious Toys
  • limited run of 500 units for our shop
  • polybagged (no box)

RELOADED: Bomba Series 1 by MuerToys up now on Kickstarter

by
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1706312372/bomba-series-1-muertoys-collection

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1706312372/bomba-series-1-muertoys-collection

The Bomba figures, created by Matthew Ray, are very cute miniature resin bomb figures measuring 3.75" long. I see them as a natural progression of the cute weapons concepts of Frank Kozik (the Mini Bombs by Toy2R) and Mr. Shane Jessup (the blind-box keychain series by Kidrobot). And, I'm sure not coincidentally, they are shaped very much like a cartoony "Fat Man" bomb, which was the nuclear bomb dropped on Nagasaki.

War sucks, and I love Japan, so I like the idea of shedding a bit of that stigma by flipping the bomb imagery around and repurposing it for something less morally offensive than nuclear war. To that end, the series includes several happy, brightly-colored designs.

At the same time, I feel one of the most effective designs in this series is the one that looks sad- it's called ShellShock, limited to just 100 pieces. This one reminds us of the horrors of war and the psychological battle that must rage inside one's head when carrying out a mission as heavy as the nuclear bombing missions. ShellShock is available at the $53 pledge level- it's handpainted, numbered and signed.

ShellShock is just one of many designs available. See the rest here. There are lower-cost pledge levels such as a smaller $12 Mini Bomba keychain and a 3.75" DIY white Bomba for $18. All prices include domestic shipping. International backers have to pay a few bucks more.

I must say, examining these figures has gotten me to thinking more about these toys as a political and psychological statement, which gives them value above and beyond the aesthetic. They made me think. And that is something really valuable these days, especially with the big companies mentioned above pumping out vapid, superficial products with no deeper meaning.

These are ART toys, after all. I want to see the art in them. I want to feel something. I want the object to spur discussion. These Bomba figures do just that.

Dark Horse x Toy2R Domo Qee Series 5 is here!

by
Our carton of 2" Domo Qee Series 5 is now in the hands of the Tenacious Toys Blind Box Bitch, who is opening them and labeling them. Up for sale at end of week. Most common figures will be $8.99 each. If we get super rare chases they might be a little more. These will be for sale open-box on our super awesome Domo page. I'll probably steal better images from Trampt since Toy2R doesn't bother taking actual product shots.

Dark Horse x Toy2R Neon Domo Qee Series now in stock open box

by
We now have the FULL 15-piece 2-inch Neon Domo Qee Series in stock, open box. That means we've opened up all the blind boxes, shot some pictures (because the internet was low on pics of this series), and resealed and labeled each box. We are now selling identified figures here on our website. You can also check out the rest of our Domo offerings on our Domo page.

The Neon Domo Series of 2-inch figures is a bit confusing: there are actually 2 different types of figures in this series- traditional glow-in-the-dark figures, and blacklight-reactive figures. We went to the trouble of cataloging all 15 of the different figures and shooting pics. Feel free to use and share these images. Toy2R should have taken the shots, but they didn't, so we did.

Uncle Argh Noirs released to public on Sep 19th

by

Missed out on backing our Kickstarter to fund the Uncle Argh Noir Exclusive Mini Qee? Well, fear not: the remaining stock of Argh Noirs will be available for purchase on our website on Wednesday, September 19th at 9AM EST.

I don't have a direct link yet, but I will put up the item on our homepage so you can just go to TenaciousToys.com and click right thru.

I wanted to wait till my international backers have received their Argh Noirs... last week I saw that backers in Europe had begun to receive theirs (thanks Instagram), so I thought this week was a good week to get them up for sale.

I also sent a really hella lame formal press release out to the bloggers to they could post about it as well. Spanky Stokes was complaining on Twitter that we always wait to send press releases too late... so I was like "Well, I better send a press release to make Spanky happy..." I think he was referring to NYCC-related press releases, but it's a good practice anyway so I sent it.

It'll be hilarious. Can't wait to see who posts the PR. Why do I feel like that is an old-skool way of releasing info?

The graphic in this post will be one side of our NYCC postcard, by the way. Oh, and if you wanna follow us, we are @tenacioustoys on both Twitter and Instagram.

Thanks to Jon-Paul Kaiser's Artist Proofs, I was able to get my hands on the as-yet-unnamed Tenacious Toys NYCC exclusive Blue Pandaimyo. Next to the 3 other colorways i have to say this is one of my favorites, JPK will have some fantastic toys out this year and this is certainly a must own.

Priced at $28 and limited to 300 pieces, Blue Pandaimyo will be available at the Tenacious Toys NYCC Booth #3121 where JPK will be signing them, and they'll be sold online at same time.

This Is Your Brain, custom Jumping Brains for SDCC

by
When you talk about extremely original customs, you really should say the name zombiemonkie (Mikie Graham). His designs are mind-blowing... check out these mini custom Jumping Brains (Toy2R & Emilio Garcia) designed for SDCC. Normally I will not eat brains and frogs, but these little fellas are looking delicious! Yes we're a little slow posting these, but the pieces are solid and worth mentioning even after the fact!

SNEAK PEEK: Scott Kinnebrew x Star Wars x Toy2R customs

by
Okay, I'm not sure what these are for, but Scott Kinnebrew teased us with this shot of two Star Wars-themed custom 8-inch Kit Kat Qees. Looks like Kabe from the Cantina on the left, and and Ewok (Logray??) on the right. Secondary or tertiary characters, to be sure, but honestly those are the ones that interest me the most. Bad ass. I guess we all have to wait and see if there will be more, or if there's some event or show happening that warranted two customs along the same theme... Scott likes to tease us, the bastard.

INCOMING: Voltaire Deady Bunee and Sleezter Bunee Mini Qees

by
We're really excited to continue our support of our favorite Goth (and minor local celebrity) Voltaire by stocking all 4 of his upcoming Toy2R Mini Qee releases: Deady Bunee (in both Color and Black/White colorways) and Sleezter Bunee (in both Color and Black/White colorways).

Deady Bunee and Sleezter Bunee are the next figures in Voltaire's popular collaboration with online role-playing game Adventure Quest.

Like the 8" Deady Bear Qee and the 5" Deady Big in Japan Mini Qee before them, all of these Bunee figures come with a game code for Adventure Quest. You can read more about that popular promotion here.

Deady and Sleezter Bunee Qees are just $28 each, no matter which colorway. You can preorder the Color versions on our site here, and as soon as we get word that they've arrived, we'll put up the Black/White versions for sale as well (FYI Black/White colorways are apparently short-packed in the cases, meaning a case of 12 Deadys will contain 8 Color figures and 4 Black/White figures).
