Twisted Mouse show opens at PIQ March 14th

PIQ is announcing their Twisted Mouse show in their shop in Grand Central Terminal, literally the most convenient art toy shop and gallery in all of NYC. If you can't find Grand Central on your own, I can't help you.

SGTCC Leftovers from Scott Tolleson

Now that Singapore's annual Singapore Game, Toys, and Comic Convention(SGTCC) is over, little known US artist Scott Tolleson has brought back some leftover exclusives. Available now in Scott's online shop is a Lime Green translucent Deadbeet, which has GID swirls. Scott's Deadbeet character is made of Sofubi and has been made in a small handful of colors. Also available is Scott's Trayjus figure, which comes in a polished purple resin, exclusively made for SGTCC. Purple Trayjus is limited to just 30 pieces, as is the Lime Green Deadbeet. Each of these pieces are selling for $60 plus shipping and available through Scott's online shop. Go forth and support this little known artist as he tries to build a name for himself.

Lyle Bean by Mighty Jaxx x Scott Tolleson

Mighty Jaxx presents the first of their CO-LAB(color-Lab) line of interchangeable multicolored vinyl toys. Lyle Bean is the first release which was designed by Scott Tolleson and initially released at Scott's booth during SDCC 2014. Each Lyle Bean is packaged in a blister clam shell with a backer card. One of the great little features about these are the heads(and possible the arms) can be popped off and swapped with a different color, increasing the color combinations. While Scott only had the 4 base colors available during SDCC, Mighty Jaxx is upping the ante a bit with a free exclusive. Everyone who purchases all four Lyle Bean colors, through the Mighty Jaxx online store, will also receive a rare clear Lyle Bean.  Retailing for $30 each, these will be available to purchase through the Mighty Jaxx website on August 1st at 7pm PST.

Heads / Heavenus: Luke Chueh & Scott Tolleson Show at Clutter May 10, Beacon, NY

I will also be attending this excellent show featuring two more of my favorite artists: Scott Tolleson and Luke Chueh are teaming up for a joint show at thew Clutter Gallery, down the street from Dream in Plastic in Beacon NY.

The Clutter Gallery is proud to announce a meeting of two powerhouses: a dual solo exhibition of new sculptural works by Luke Chueh and Scott Tolleson! Titled "Heads" and "Heavenus," respectively, these showcases will share one space & spirit but each artist will uniquely explore the three-dimensional realm. Make sure to follow both Luke Chueh's Instagram as well as Scott Tolleson's Instagram to see work-in-progress pics as these two masters assemble a truly memorable show!

SNEAK PEEK: DeKorner's Kookie No Good Sofubi by Scott Tolleson

Normally, Fortune Cookies are a perfect way to finish a good meal at a Chinese Restaurant -- a crunchy treat with a happy and hopeful message.  Forget all that. Kookie No Good is a wayward, sad, mischievous fortune cookie or perhaps a 'misfortune' cookie.  Whether he is upset at the world or just upset that he's food, he's certainly not looking to bring you good fortune.   

Starting with De Korner owner Kevin Cao's desire to make a 'bad fortune cookie' toy, Kookie No Good was designed by prolific artist Scott Tolleson. The appeal of this adorably upset sofubi toy lies in his priceless expression with furrowed brow, and pursed lips. The Kookie No Good 2014 retailer edition features a cookie color base vinyl with red, black, pink and white sprays. Manufactured in Japan, the figure stands 3.5" and is articulated smoothly at the neck.

Baby Deadbeet clocks in at 1.5″ of PVC goodness and was designed by Scott Tolleson/sculpted by George Gaspar. Zombie Pheyden towers over him at just over 2″ tall and was designed by Matt Doughty/L’amour Supreme/sculpted by George Gaspar. Both figures ship loose (no packaging) and can be yours for only $2 each!

DCon: Scott Tolleson's Trayjus in Pink and Teal- Booth 223

 

Trayjus is getting colorful and will be available in limited quantity at Designer Con 2013, Booth #223. For those who don't know, Trayjus is an original sculpted figure by not George Gaspar, but by Mr. Scott Tolleson himself. Scott had a few painted versions available at his solo show at Dragatomi in Sacremento, but is making a pink and teal version available at Booth #223 at Designer Con 2013. Limited to 10 pieces in each color, Trayjus will be priced at $75 each, or both for $140.

 

Scott is also going to have some products available at the 3D Retro booth #104, so be sure to check out both booths. Attendees of Designer Con 2013 should be ready for a long and active day, full of artists, games and blind box time with Toy Break.

Mr. Scott Tolleson and 3D Retro are debuting the next colorway of Scott Tolleson's Britta Critta, Moonshine. Priced at $50, this GID version of the Britta Critta is going to be available from 3D Retro's Booth, #104, at Designer Con 2013. It's likely that any remaining pieces are going to be made available online via 3DRetro.com, that is if any are left.

Scott Tolleson will also have a booth at Designer Con, Booth #223, a booth shared with Carson Catlin. Attendees should bring a sketchbook, some sharpies, and some questions to ask available artists at Designer Con 2013.

Scott Tolleson called Benny of Tenacious Toys one day and asked if he wanted to have the Argh Noir colorway as a Tenacious Toys exclusive. Of course, Benny did, but he didn't have the money to fund the run of 500 Mini Qees. So Benny turned to Kickstarter, the crowd-funding platform, and put together his first Kickstarter project. After a nail-biting 2 months, the Argh Noir Kickstarter was fully funded and the money was sent to Toy2R to begin production! We are now selling the Årgh Noirs as we would any other product on our website since all Argh Noir Mini Qee rewards have been shipped to the backers of the project.

Born and raised as the only child of successful circus performers,  Bobby Von Block was a lonely, misunderstood child who was often teased by the other children for being too square. He spent much of his time studying physics, carpentry and mind reading. His best and only friend throughout childhood was  his homemade assistant, Ivan the Beaker.
