Damaged Goods by Luke Chueh

by

Inner State Gallery in Detroit Michigan presents "Damaged Goods", an art show by Luke Chueh. From Luke Chueh:
As a working artist, I'm constantly dividing my time between the development of my studio art and the production of various products inspired by that artwork. I'm always searching for ways to re-interpret my studio work and take advantage of collector trends, whether it be limited edition prints, or "art toys".
In case you didn't know, Inner State Gallery is a part of the Detroit based print producer and distributor 1xRUN. For many years, I've had the pleasure of working with 1xRUN, and I've seen them grown and diversify. For my upcoming "Damaged Goods" show, I want to create a show that I could only do with Inner State / 1xRUN. For that, I plan on taking advantage of the tools and technology that they have on site. From silk screen reproduction, to hand embellished prints, to laser cut editions, this show will truly push the boundary of the kind of art work I've created and explore the merging of art and commerce.
Opening on April 22nd, 2016 and running through May 13th, anyone in the Detroit area should make the way out to Inner State Gallery and join them for the opening reception on April 22nd. For those who won't be in attendance but still interested in purchasing any art, be sure to get on Inner State Gallery's preview list.

Luke Chueh's Dissected Kickstarter FUNDED

by
Huge congrats to the Clutter team and to this guy right here
for a successful Kickstarter!

This KS campaign funded the creation of a 6x6x5.5 inch vinyl bear head with a cutaway to reveal a human skull.

I backed this one, I've made it no secret that Luke is one of my favorite artists.

Just wanted to give him a shout and let him know that we are overjoyed with each of his successes.

To learn more about Luke Chueh and his hard-hitting and very personal artwork, check his site here.

Luke also has a show of his painting running right now at Rotofugi. A lot of the pieces have sold, but there are still a few remaining to pick up. Check the page here.

Luke Chueh's "Dissected" Vinyl Sculpture Kickstarter Update

by
For those of who don't know, Clutter Magazine (The Clutter Gallery) has teamed up with Luke Chueh and Unbox Industries to produce a vinyl version of Luke Chueh's Dissected Bear head. Originally released as a Kenner Blue Prototype resin version at NYCC 2014, a lot of people were pretty bummed that they were not able to pick one up and that they were never going to be produced again. Well, thanks to what is an already funded Kickstarter, the Dissected in Kenner Blue Prototype is now available as both a Reward Tier and add-on to any other reward tier. Priced at $40 plus shipping, the new Tier can now be selected in Kickstarter, or the Kenner Blue version can be added to an existing reward tier for $30. The price is very reasonable, considering that the retail price for the painted Dissected sculpture will be $80, or $60 plus shipping through Kickstarter. Everyone should check out the Dissected Sculpture Kickstarter page and pledge for a reward, keeping in mind that money is not collected until the Kickstarter has ended and is completely funded.

Kickstarter - Luke Chueh's "Dissected" Vinyl Sculpture

by
On Kickstarter right now is Luke Chueh's Dissected Vinyl Sculpture. Teaming up with Clutter Magazine, Luke Chueh is hoping to get enough funding and interest to get Dissected factory produced. This method allows the sculpture to be brought to the masses at a more affordable price point, with several Kickstarter Reward tiers available. Be sure to check out the Kickstarter video and page. For those are interested, be sure to choose a reward, or at the very least spread the word on social media. As of this post, the Kickstarter has been fully funded, but there are still a few stretch goals that still need to be reached to make more cool stuff available. This Dissected Kickstarter will run until May 8th, 2015.

threeB - Boba, Bears and Bounty Hunters - Luke Chueh at FLABSLAB

by

Luke Chueh has teamed up with Singapore based FLABSLAB to create BOBA! Inspired by one of the universe's most famous Bounty Hunters and a delicious beverage, BOBA is a resin sculpture of Star Wars' Boba Fett character enjoying a drink of Boba (aka Bubble Tea). Luke Chueh originally created this representation as a painting, which was later turned into more affordable prints. Lately, Prints on Wood was able to create a small run of 100 wood prints for Designer Con 2014, which has since sold out. FLABSLAB was tasked to create BOBA in 3D and will be releasing this limited edition sculpture on November 21, 2014. Priced at $300USD/SGD380, BOBA sits around 9.5" tall. Now, for those Boba Fett aficionados out there, Boba is not 100% accurate by design(or by accident, does it matter?). FLABSLAB will be having a launch event on November 21st, in Singapore. Luke Chueh will be in attendance and has brought some goodies along with him for attendees to purchase. For all those not in Singapore and interested in purchasing BOBA, any leftover pieces will be made available for purchase online for $300 plus shipping, around November 24th.

Luke Chueh: HEADS at Clutter Gallery May 10

by
SATURDAY: MAY 10TH, 2014 (BEACON, NY)

CLUTTER GALLERY PRESENTS: LUKE CHUEH "HEADS" (plus Scott Tolleson)

From Luke:
This May, Clutter Gallery will be the hosting my upcoming mini solo show, "Heads". Clutter Magazine & Gallery are best known for their coverage of the Art/Designer toy scene. As such, we felt that this would be a good opportunity for me to do a show that was very different from my normal paintings-on-canvas shows. Starting with the shape of my bear's head and casting an 8" in diameter rotocast version of it, we created a unique platform for me to build this show on.

The show is also actually a two person show. I'll be sharing the gallery with my friend and colleague Scott Tolleson.

This is also one of my first major exhibitions on the east coast. I realize it's actually in Upstate New York, but I hope to see you there.

Opening Reception:

Saturday, May 10th, 2014 (6PM - 9PM)
