A custom Dunny (7 inch) from some months ago, but never posted on this blog. Have to say that I like it so much, that I have to post it. Hope you guys dig it too!
Aztec godess of death,
wife of Mictlantecuhtli, both ruled Mictlan, the 9o and last Aztec world
of the dead. To this place went men and women who died from natural
causes.
She was represented as a skeleton or aperson with skeletal head a defleshed body with a skirt of live serpents, with jaw agape to swallow the stars during the day
Her purpose was to keep the bones of the dead of past worlds, so they can be used to create the human of this world. She presided over the ancient festivals of the dead, which evolved from Aztec traditions into the modern Day of the Dead after synthesis with Spanish cultural traditions. Mictecacihuatl is known as the Lady of the Dead, since it is believed that she was born, then sacrificed as an infant, so she used to eat little infants in a sacrifice motive.

Kagekuro-ling drops the booty! Move over and make some room, Shadoe Degado got his hands on a Camilla d'Errico 6.5" vinyl Kuro and the Shadow-ling transformation came naturally. Kagekuro-ling rocks a pair of antlers and an even bigger jangly booty- and looks pretty pleased with himself.
These are Camilla's vinyl Kuros, limited edition and long since sold out. Kuro is the devil character in Camilla's graphic novel Tanpopo, now published by Boom Studios!
The Kuro form resonated especially well with Shadoe's aesthetic and sculptural sensibilities. The Tilted a-symetrical posture gives Kuro, and his custom variations, a sculptural and animated feeling. We get a good sense of Kuro's inquisitive up-turn from behind.

This design is submitted to Squid Kids Ink's "Design-A-Label" contest that runs Jan 1st-31st, 2013. The call was to create a mashup of a fake video game on one of your characters or ideas. The winning entry will be included in series two of the 3.5" mini 10-Doh! blindbox edition.
The "Lose Yourself" design takes up Super Mario Bros. 3 and sets a detour to another world, maybe ours with title "Super Hyper Real 3". The hyperreal is a place where the distinctions between the real and the imaginary blur to point where you are unable to tell the difference.
Patrick Wong comments on his design "I remember playing Super Mario Bros as a kid and looking back now as an adult that nostalgia I feel for the old characters, levels, powerups, all those things - suggest an escape from the regular world. The world where I had to do homework and obey my parents. For me, combining the idea of the Hyperreal with Super Mario Bros. makes a collision of these two "pretend" worlds and in a way brings it back to adults, the people who buy designer toys."
Artist Bio: Patrick Wong is a Canadian-based illustrator and artist who has been awarded by Applied Arts Magazine and the Society of Illustrator Los Angeles. Themes that runs through his work navigate high and low culture, blending ideas from design, art, and philosophy.

Spotted on Facebook...
This was part of my birthday present for my wife. She loves trees and butterflies, and "our colors" (wedding, etc.) always seem to be blue & orange. It's a bit self portrait-y. My second Phalanx So What custom. I need to track down more of these. They are a bit of a hassle to work with, bit I like them!

Totally missed this one from Nikejerk, awesomeness!
This is my custom 8" Mad Robber Mutation Dunny I've titled The DiAnimator.
"The Mad Robber had expertly infiltrated the KR head quarters found what he had come for and was making his way out when he thought to himself... it was far too quiet. For weeks all he'd heard was how the Dunny vault was impenetrable but just as he thought it was no match for the worlds greatest thief. He was steps away from being home free when the ceiling caved in and all went black. He had no idea what had happened so when he came to, saw a wrecked spaceship and realized he wasn't hurt, he didn't stick around to find out who or what it was. What the robber didn't know was he was already exposed to the J3 and he would soon mutate into something even darker than what he already was. Something more sinister. The Robber would soon be the undead — The DiAnimator." -Nikejerk

The latest Dunny's from Bjornik....After a long and arduous journey, the four sisters were united with the kings whose hearts they captured.
Kai of the north kingdom was a ruthless and iron-fisted ruler. Only
two things could crack his callous exterior: his beloved canary whose
warbling could instantly turn him into a big, doting marshmallow, and
Qortni's temper which made him tremble worse than jelly in a railroad
car. He enjoyed both.
Kavan
of the east kingdom was a debonair gentleman, full of charm and grace.
He made all the ladies in the kingdom swoon and bat their eyes.
Unfortunately for them, he only had eyes for Quilla whom he showered
with gifts and affection. One look from him, and she could feel her
heart flutter like a thousand butterflies. Kavan and Quilla were
completely and utterly in love.
Kendl of the south kingdom was a benevolent and generous king. Most of the time he was very jolly and cheerful -- except when Quiana beat him at games, which happened to be all the time. Everyone in the kingdom regarded Kendl and Quiana as the lucky couple.
Kinah of the west kingdom was enormously wealthy, with rooms filled with gold and gems and all sort of trophies. Whatever King Kinah desired, he got. So it frustrated him to no end that the only thing he could not get was Quarta's satisfaction and approval. She was always highly suspicious that whatever she did not have was actually better. Kinah and Quarta were constantly craving for more.
