Camilla d'Errico Custom Android & Live Painting

by

A couple of weeks ago a Work-In-Progress photo surfaced of pop surrealist contemporary painter Camilla d'Errico working on a custom Android. She has finished the piece- and what a charming little girl she is! Bright blue eye a-twinkle, Camilla's signature traditional media style is very present when she, infrequently, paints designer toys.

Getting to watch Camilla paint on toys or canvas is mesmerizing- and Camilla will be live-painting at Emerald City Comic Con Fri Mar 1st in The Baltic Room 9:30pm. Hosted by outstanding female SuperGeek Molly McIsaac, artists David Mack, Carl Faulkner, Mark Brooks, Rebecca Watts, Camilla and many more will be live-painting into the night. The pieces the artists create will then be auctioned at ECCC the following day to raise money for Seattle Children's Hospital.

If you're attending Emerald City, or in the Seattle area, you can find Camilla d'Errico at ECCC Artist Alley booth#B15-16 where she'll be celebrating a new Charity Print Release and her brand new Artbook release from Darkhorse Comics.

Find more of Camilla's artwork on her website, Facebook, Instagram @camilladerrico , Twitter @Helmetgirl or e-mail inquiries to info@camilladerrico.com

Kagekuro-ling custom Kuro by Shadoe Delgado

by

Kagekuro-ling drops the booty! Move over and make some room, Shadoe Degado got his hands on a Camilla d'Errico 6.5" vinyl Kuro and the Shadow-ling transformation came naturally. Kagekuro-ling rocks a pair of antlers and an even bigger jangly booty- and looks pretty pleased with himself.

These are Camilla's vinyl Kuros, limited edition and long since sold out. Kuro is the devil character in Camilla's graphic novel Tanpopo, now published by Boom Studios!

The Kuro form resonated especially well with Shadoe's aesthetic and sculptural sensibilities. The Tilted a-symetrical posture gives Kuro, and his custom variations, a sculptural and animated feeling. We get a good sense of Kuro's inquisitive up-turn from behind.

And head-on, the mask lends itself well to Shadoe's preference for wide-set eyes. If you're interested in Shadoe's work, drop him a line at shadoedelgado@gmail.com

Camilla d'Errico Custom Fonzo for Fonzo Love NY

by

Comics illustrator and Fine Arts painter Camilla d'Errico has a new painted toy to contribute to My Plastic Heart and Freakstore's Fonzo Love NY Exhibition.
Fonzo is a 6" French Bulldog platform, an animal close to Camilla's heart as she owns her own little Frenchie named Loki.

This piece, titled "Rainbow in my Eyes", features a dripping rainbow spill that follows a similar vein to some of Camilla's recent Pop Surrealist paintings she exhibited at her Candy Escape Show last October.

The Dream Melt, 11x14" Oil on Wood

Beyond The Rainbow, 11x14" Oil On Wood

"Rainbow In My Eyes" will be available through MyPlasticHeart after opening reception January 11. Contact info@myplasticheart.com for details.
Camilla's Pop Surrealist take on Fine Art Painting is reminiscent even in her toys. Let's get another look at the rest of that Fonzo.
