Linda "Vampy" Le featured on CNN

Cosplayer and artist Linda Le was recently featured on CNN for one of the "24 Hours with" pieces, as well as having a featured video on CNN Money. One piece is titled "24 Hours with A Comic Con Character", a CNN piece as told by Blake Ellis, gives readers a glimpse into Linda's life as a cosplayer. CNN followed Linda while she prepped her costumes and attended New York Comic Con 2014. All the while, talking about how she became a cosplayer and while touching a bit on the struggles of being a professional cosplayer. The "24 Hours with" piece features a main video titled "How I Became a Comic Con Star" (below), which is a featured video on CNN Money. The "24 Hours with" piece not only has the main video, roughly 2 minutes long, it also features a number of smaller videos taken throughout the day with Linda, to go along with a series of journal entries made by Linda. Overall, the "24 Hours with A Comic Con Character" piece is a small glimpse of what represents a typical event day in the life of Linda Le.


Although the "24 Hours with" piece should have been titled something more appropriate, like 24 Hours with a Professional Cosplayer", it's great that Linda got the well deserved recognition. So, be sure to check out the entire piece on CNN and share it to everyone.

NYCC 2014 - Hip Hop Trooper from Team Tenacious Toys

A few days before NYCC 2014 and a few more exclusives are being revealed. The latest reveal is a Hip Hop Trooper from Tenacious Toys and Team Tenacious.

Here is the project as explained by Benny:

We are super stoked to reveal our final #NYCC Exclusive - a 3.75" bootleg-style @hiphoptrooper action figure, executed by Team Tenacious with the blessing of Hip Hop Trooper himself! Figure comes with Def Star Thumper and gold chain accessories, in a blister clamshell with full color artwork! Big big thanks to @s_a_monster for the impressively detailed paint on the figures, @manlyart for the ridiculous card back artwork, @sidekicklab for printing the cards, and Tenacious Toys Operations Manager @kris_dulfer for handling literally every other part of this project, from the figures to the accessories to the purchasing. Truly a team effort here. 100 figures, $65 each. Look for a few figures to be held back and sold online after NYCC to benefit Hip Hop Trooper's charity of choice!

NYCC 2014 - Crummy Gummy releases at PiQ

Crummy Gummy is going to be releasing a few things at NYCC 2014, through the PiQ Booth #614. First up is an about 1 lb Crummy Gummy Boy resin figure, limited to just 5 available pieces. Crummy Gummy Boy stands at about 6" and will cost $185 each.

In addition to the resin piece, Crummy Gummy is going to have a new print available for $45 each. Limited to just 50 pieces, the print is titled "Bye Bye Michael Bay". Crummy Gummy will be at NYCC for a signing at PiQ, Booth #617, along with several other great artists. For all those attending NYCC, be sure to check out Booth #617 and all the signings going on. NYCC 2014 Exclusives from Kris Dulfer through GeekStuff Booth 127

Kris Dulfer is going to have a booth at NYCC 2014, through the Tenacious Toys Collective space, Booth #208. In addition to having his own booth, Kris will have some awesome exclusives available through Geek Stuff, Booth #127. Kris painted up some GeekStuff Dead Vinyl Busts, which will be available for $120 each from the Geek Stuff booth.

In addition to the GeekStuff Dead Vinyl Busts, Kris created D4L3K. Available in various shades of blue, D4L3K is limited to 10 pieces and priced at $50 each, D4L3K was created by combining 2 things Matt (from Big Kev's Geek Stuff) loves: Doctor Who and Star Wars. The finished piece represents what a mid-afternoon brainstorming session can end up with. These pieces, as well as other awesome goodies, will be available at the GeekStuff Booth #127 at NYCC 2014. Logray - NYCC 2014 Exclusive from UmeToys through SubUrban Vinyl

NYCC 2014 is shaping up to have a ton of awesome exclusives and amazing artists in attendance. Rich Page, of Ume Toys, is bringing Logray. Logray is the latest edition of UmeToys' GeekWok figures. Limited to 10 pieces, each 3" tall piece is painted to have distinct tan stripped fur, with a hand sculpted churi bird skull headdress. These pieces are going to be available for $55 at the SubUrban Vinyl Booth, Booth #208 in The Block. Gnaw-X1 by Plaseebo with Rampage Studios and Skull Head Butt for NYCC 2014

With NYCC 2014 not to far away, more and more exclusives and releases are coming down the pipeline. This year, Plaseebo collaborated with Rampage Studios and Skull Head Butt to create the 8" "Gnaw-X1" custom vinyl figure. This one of a kind, hand painted vinyl figure features glass inset eyes and an internal motion activated color-changing LED. "Gnaw-X1" has also been signed and dated 2014. Although there is no word on price, this piece will be available through the Rampage Studios booth # 208, within the Tenacious Toys Collective space at NYCC 2014. For all those attending NYCC 2014, be sure to stop by Booth #208 in The Block, there will be tons to see.

NYCC GI Joe/Transformers Prints by George Vega and Brandi Dixon

With less than a week to go before NYCC Geek Stuff still has a few more booth exclusives to announce.  This time it's the awesome GI Joe/ Transformers prints from artist  George Vega and colorist Brandi Dixon.  These limited edition prints are 11x17 and will sell for $20 a piece and will be available exclusively at the Geek Stuff booth #127 throughout the con's four day run.

More SubUrban Vinyl NYCC 2014 Releases

NYCC 2014 approaches quickly and releases continue to be revealed. This time around, SubUrban Vinyl has a little more info to release for those attending NYCC. First up, THC Droplets from Wasted Talent. These THC Droplets are based on the sold out custom Buddy Fonzarelli created by Wasted Talent for the Blood Type Positive show. These 2.5" sculpted and resin cast custom droplets will be available at the SubUrban Vinyl Booth #208 in The Block at NYCC 2014. Available in an OG Purp and an OG Kush colorway, each colorway will be limited to just 12 pieces, with each piece being signed and numbered.

Also at NYCC 2014, SubUrban Vinyl will have artist Lou Pimentel live painting and signing all weekend. Lou Pimentel will have a new print available called "Odisseia", which is limited to just 50 signed and numbered prints. The "Odisseia" print measures in at 11" x 14" and is printed on water color rag paper. Prints will be available on October 9th at booth #208 in The Block. This year Suburban Vinyl has teamed up with the amazing folks at Furry Feline Creatives to bring you their very own limited edition Suburban Reptile Kaiju Purridge Plush. Each one is 100% hand sewn with love and measure 14"x12" . There will only be 12 available at their booth #208 in the block as part of the Tenacious Collective. Also for the first time the folks from Furry Feline Creatives will be attending New York Comic Con and will be on hand at our booth and will have some of their other amazing products available.

Kyle Kirwan at NYCC 2014 Booth #425

This year at NYCC 2014, Brooklyn based artist Kyle Kirwan will have a bunch of stuff to show and sell at Booth #425 in the Block. In addition to Stickers, trading cards, buttons and magnets, Kyle will have a new mini-figure on hand, as well as some customs for sale. Kyle is probably working like a mad man getting everything completed and ready for NYCC, which seems to be growing every year.

At NYCC, Kyle will also have the Willo Resin Prototype on hand, for people to take a first hand look at. The Willo prototype was the basis behind Kyle's successful Kickstarter, which funded back in May. Rotocast resin pieces are going to be made as rewards, based on the prototype. This will be a chance for people to get a better feel for size and scale of Willo. Hopefully this will get more people excited for Willo, so when the figure does release, there should be no problem selling them to the masses.

 

Not to limit himself to just 3D goodies, Kyle will also have some original pieces of art for sale at his booth, #425 in the Block. Everyone who is attending NYCC 2014 should stop by Kyle's booth and pick up some items.

Introducing Skullnade by David Kraig

With NYCC 2014 seemingly around the corner, releases are starting to pop up and press releases sent out. One of the pieces making it's debut at NYCC 2014 is SKULLNADE by David Kraig. Known for awesome sculpted customs, David is releasing his latest sculpture SKULLNADE, at booth #419. Each SKULLNADE is cast in resin and measures around 4"L x 3"H x 2.5"W. SKULLNADE will be available in Black, Red, Hot Pink, Yellow, Green and Blue, with a GID version being exclusively available at NYCC 2014. A White DIY version will also be available to round out the color wheel. For those not attending NYCC, the SKULLNADE rainbow will be available to purchase online through the SKULLNADE website.

Geek Stuff NYCC Exclusive #1 by Rich Page of Ume Toys

It's that time of year when all the New York Comic Con releases start going out and this is the first of a bunch this year for Big Kev's Geek Stuff.  Located at Booth 127 this year ( so not in The Block but around The Block) Geek Stuff will have have an assortment of exclusive toys and figures, prints, and other goodies to bring you. 

First up is Butt Plug, standing at just over 2 inches tall and limited to 10 pieces, this awesome resin design by Rich Page from Ume Toys is the latest in Rich's large catalog of original characters.  He will go on sale for $41 as soon as the con opens on Thursday an will not be limited to a certain number per day.
