Our buddy Rich Page of UME Toys kindly humored my request of MOAR GEEKWOK IN CARBONITE... I love this figure. Rich cast 10 of them in a special Blue Carbonite for us as an NYCC Exclusive. They are resin blocks, approx 4.5" tall, priced at $55 each. Rich will also have pieces over at Big Kev's Geek Stuff, the best podcast known to man, and those guys will be chatting with us during the show about all the sweet geekery that will be available in high concentrations in Booth 208.

NYCC 2014 Exclusives from Kris Dulfer through GeekStuff Booth 127

Kris Dulfer is going to have a booth at NYCC 2014, through the Tenacious Toys Collective space, Booth #208. In addition to having his own booth, Kris will have some awesome exclusives available through Geek Stuff, Booth #127. Kris painted up some GeekStuff Dead Vinyl Busts, which will be available for $120 each from the Geek Stuff booth.

In addition to the GeekStuff Dead Vinyl Busts, Kris created D4L3K. Available in various shades of blue, D4L3K is limited to 10 pieces and priced at $50 each, D4L3K was created by combining 2 things Matt (from Big Kev's Geek Stuff) loves: Doctor Who and Star Wars. The finished piece represents what a mid-afternoon brainstorming session can end up with. These pieces, as well as other awesome goodies, will be available at the GeekStuff Booth #127 at NYCC 2014. Geek Stuff NYCC Exclusive #1 by Rich Page of Ume Toys

It's that time of year when all the New York Comic Con releases start going out and this is the first of a bunch this year for Big Kev's Geek Stuff.  Located at Booth 127 this year ( so not in The Block but around The Block) Geek Stuff will have have an assortment of exclusive toys and figures, prints, and other goodies to bring you. 

First up is Butt Plug, standing at just over 2 inches tall and limited to 10 pieces, this awesome resin design by Rich Page from Ume Toys is the latest in Rich's large catalog of original characters.  He will go on sale for $41 as soon as the con opens on Thursday an will not be limited to a certain number per day. Check out the attached photo's and be sure to swing by Booth 127 early as Rich's exclusives tend to sell out quick.

MOMMY'S BOY: Bag Head edition by KiD iNK iNDUSTRiES

The Late 1970’s and the early 1980’s … so many good things came out of them. One of them was an unstoppable fear inspiring monster of the time, an unkillable killer, who wore a hockey mask and cut up naughty morally weak camp counselors like tender filet mignons …
Paying homage to Friday the 13th series of 80’s slasher films, this release focuses particularly on the second installment where we see our anti-hero developing his persona, before he donned his iconic hockey mask and machete. Back in the early days as he stalked the woods around the camp he wore a filthy sack on his head, and used an axe, this was quite effective as a start. The only way to go from there, was up, and out of the grave at least 10 more times … Kudos to Mommys Boy, congratulations on over achieving - all the way to outer space and beyond. 

MOMMY'S BOY is a collaborative release between KiD iNK iNDUSTRiES and Big Kev's Geek Stuff.  Each figure comes with a hand sewn bag to cover up that ugly mug and the weapon of choice, a bloody ax, all in a VHS-styled box and includes an authenticity card and prints for $45 each.  Thirteen MOMMY'S BOY figures will be available on Friday, June 13th at 12 noon EST at Big Kev's store.  As a bonus, there will be two chase piece claim tickets inserted randomly.  One ticket will be redeemable for a gold edition MOMMY'S BOY and the other for a glow-in-the-dark chase.  Check out Big Kev's Geek Stuff podcast for all the info and lots of geeky toy, movie and comic news!

Big Kev's Geek Stuff Looted; Fundraiser to Get Them Back on Air

Big Kev's Geek Stuff is an awesome radio show with over 230 episodes under their collective belt. The show is run by Kev and Matt, two locals who have been extremely supportive of Tenacious Toys and lots of other local shops and artists that we call friends.

Last month, one of their studios was broken into and all their electronic equipment was stolen, making it impossible for them to create new shows. This sucks. Here's what they had to say:

Earlier today Studio B was broken into. Though it has always been a long running joke of the show, the studio has always been a personal space for myself or Kevin. In this case Studio B was Kevin's home. Along with some personal items of great value, all of the show equipment was stolen. Literally there is next to nothing left aside from the mic stands. Due to this we are sad to announce that the show is suspended. Until such a time as we can replace the equipment and the the lost files, production, etc... there will be no new full episodes of Geek Stuff.

Fortunately, in this business, we all look out for one another, so George Gaspar of Toy Break/October Toys/OMFG/DCon fame is organizing a fundraiser to help fund the re-purchasing of the equipment necessary to run the show. Read more here to get involved. There will be eBay auctions at the end of September. You can donate items to be sold, or bid on the items. Either way, you will be helping.

Inside Toy Street: Big Kev's Geek Stuff Interviews the Movers & Shakers

Kev and OG from Big Kev's Geek Stuff were on hand during Toy Street 2011 to interview some of the people that made the show a success: Ron English, Steve Talkowski, my customer Amanda, Eric from Argonaut Resins and Selena from The Jelly Empire. Big Kev interviewed also interviewed me at Toy Street, but I just crank-called his Sirius radio show the other day so he might have cut my interview out... jerk.

The Podcast episode will go online Tuesday or so next week.  Because we've made the contest open to both the podcast and the satellite show, we've made it so entries are submitted via our voicemail line with a phrase the caller has to say and then we'll pick a winner out of all the entries.  (Voicemail number = 425-920-6050)

They will have to hear the show for the phrase.  But they can listen to either one to get it so it's really pretty easy to enter as we wanted to keep it open to anyone who wanted to enter. We've set a deadline for entries at 4/27/11 5pm est so that if there is a delay in listening to the podcast you can still have a chance to enter and win.

Argonaut Resins announces their latest release: these neon pink Tuttzs which will be for sale at Big Kev's Geek Stuff booth #428. Eric from Argonaut will be signing his Tuttz resins, books and Tshirts Sat. Oct. 9th from 2:30 - 3:30 at the New York Comic Con and will also have a few other surprises on hand. The Neon Pink Tuttz will be limited to only 6 pieces and one per customer.
