24 Hour Toy Break on April 1st

After a bit of a hiatus and some time away from the couch, the Toy Break crew came back to the tube on March 23rd with Episode 381. In addition to starting back up reviewing toys and such, with guests on the couch, it was also announced that 24 hour Toy Break will be airing on April 1st through April 2nd. Starting at 5PM PST on April 1st, the Toy Break crew will start the 24 hour marathon to raise funds and asks everyone to join in on the fun, for any amount of time that allows. Of course, there will be some who are going to stick it out for the entire 24 hours, but most should at least check in throughout the 24 hour marathon. One of the great things about 24 hour Toy Break are the auctions that happen, real time, during the event. Everything from production vinyl, to hand made plush, and even some on the spot doodles and sketches have been seen in the past. All of which are typically auctioned off in the UStream Comments section. Featuring guests, reviews, antics and more, there is no telling what is going to happen as the clock ticks down starting at 5pm. In the meantime, check out Episode 381.

Toy Break 24 Hour Episode Deadbeet Exclusives!

Scott Tolleson discusses our Uncle Argh Noir Kickstarter on Toy Break

Every week, George and Ayleen invite a special guest onto the Toy Break couch to help them out with the show, give their honest opinion on the issues and toys discussed, and generally look pretty. This week, our friend Scott Tolleson played First Mate on the Toy Break couch for episode #207.

Big Kev's Geek Stuff Looted; Fundraiser to Get Them Back on Air

Big Kev's Geek Stuff is an awesome radio show with over 230 episodes under their collective belt. The show is run by Kev and Matt, two locals who have been extremely supportive of Tenacious Toys and lots of other local shops and artists that we call friends.

Last month, one of their studios was broken into and all their electronic equipment was stolen, making it impossible for them to create new shows. This sucks. Here's what they had to say:

Earlier today Studio B was broken into. Though it has always been a long running joke of the show, the studio has always been a personal space for myself or Kevin. In this case Studio B was Kevin's home. Along with some personal items of great value, all of the show equipment was stolen. Literally there is next to nothing left aside from the mic stands. Due to this we are sad to announce that the show is suspended. Until such a time as we can replace the equipment and the the lost files, production, etc... there will be no new full episodes of Geek Stuff.

Fortunately, in this business, we all look out for one another, so George Gaspar of Toy Break/October Toys/OMFG/DCon fame is organizing a fundraiser to help fund the re-purchasing of the equipment necessary to run the show. Read more here to get involved. There will be eBay auctions at the end of September. You can donate items to be sold, or bid on the items. Either way, you will be helping.
