DKE Toys SDCC 2018: Cantina Denizen by Manly Art

At SDCC2018 Booth #5045, DKE Toys is bringing a booth full of toys. This latest piece is called Cantina Denizen by Manly Art. Limited to just 24 pieces, each hand cast resin figure is mounted to an original painted card back. Each painting is a portrait of this alien fellow and with that alone, would warrant the $150 price tag for each of these pieces. Again, each card back is an original painted portrait of the sparkly turquoise figure.

Tenacious Toys Top 10 Customer Reward Packs for 2017

After every new year at Tenacious Toys, we look back at our sales for the previous year and tabulate our top 10 customers for that year. We always put together some kind of reward for them - a free gift to say "thank you" for supporting our little shop over the course of the year.

Loyalty is SUPREMELY important to us, professionally and personally, so we go the extra mile for our top supporters. As a tiny business, having repeat customers who come back to us time and again is literally vital to the success of our shop.

Bio: Josh Mayhem's lifelong habit of collecting children's playthings has fueled his passion for transforming said toys into objects d'art. Embracing both order and chaos as inspiration points, Mayhem's mixed media 'art toys' tend to be created in two contrasting styles: intricate, detailed assemblages comprised of Japanese model kit parts, and more free-flowing, expressionist sculptures. Among his best-known pieces are those constituting his “Blown Away” series, in which mass-produced forms are covered in strands of resin and layers of acrylic paint to create gravity-defying drips that give the impression of the work being deconstructed by a strong wind. The popularity of this direction has led to Mayhem being nominated for Designer Toy Awards, participating in TRASHed: Art of Recycling at Coachella Festival, representation by the Corner12 agency, and continuing partnerships with the premiere worldwide creator and dealer of limited edition art toys, Kidrobot.

NYCC Booth 208 - Tenacious Collective: Manly Art*

 Jason Chalker (Manly Art) has just released the flyers for his two NYCC Exclusives: the Pimp Speeder set (above) which comes with vehicle and chauffeur (because you already own a Pimp2-D2, right?) and the R5-D420 figure (below).

The Pimp Speeder comes with a sweet sticker sheet with 3 different hood sticker designs so you can pimp put your speeder according to your own tastes. Xhibit would approve!

15 Pimp Speeders will be available at $200 each. Definitely DO NOT sleep on this, last year we had mainstream media coverage of the Manly Art exclusives, and some celebrities stopping by to pick them up early...

R5-D420 doesn't have a bad motivator. He's just not motivated to do anything except hang out with his friends, enjoy some bantha buds and maybe order some pizza. Seth Rogen would approve! 25 R5-D420s will be available at $60 each.
