To celebrate the Chinese New Year, we decided to release a 100% American-made resin figure of an American dog breed, because that makes perfect sense!

This is a limited-edition weathered golden variant of our Tenacious Toys shop mascot Danger. Many important sculptures in China are gold in color, as gold is considered to be very beautiful. And I'm sure there's a bit of "gold attracts gold" theory in there as well. This is the second New Year Earth Dog release, with the first being red. This figure was finished in a weathered gold color and bagged with a festive and totally on-brand header card fashioned after the lucky red envelopes handed out this time of year.

Tenacious Toys Top 10 Customer Reward Packs for 2017

After every new year at Tenacious Toys, we look back at our sales for the previous year and tabulate our top 10 customers for that year. We always put together some kind of reward for them - a free gift to say "thank you" for supporting our little shop over the course of the year.

Loyalty is SUPREMELY important to us, professionally and personally, so we go the extra mile for our top supporters. As a tiny business, having repeat customers who come back to us time and again is literally vital to the success of our shop.

Resin is King Series 3 Full Reveal - Release at NYCC Booth 309

As we prep this series for the big debut, we thought we'd FINALLY get you the full-on reveal of the 10 pieces in this blind box series!

Many of the artists cast their pieces in different colors, and finished with different paint jobs, so the pieces you see above may actually turn up in different color variants! Jacob JAMS and Magitarius, for example, each submitted 10 unique one of a kind pieces. NEMO's dogs are all similar but uniquely painted. Matt (Angry Artist) made pieces in 2 main colors (bronze and white) with a one-off clear chase figure with an LED inside! Scott (FOD) has a main colorway (pictured) and 2 other chase colors. Penny (Taylored Curiosities) has a main color (pictured) and a silver chase. Dead Hand Toys has 3 color variants, with the one pictured the most common and the other 2 as chases.

To recap this series: it contains 100 blind boxes. All pieces fit into 3" tall boxes. We have 10 artists who each submitted 10 pieces. Price of a blind box is $30. Each BB comes with a resin figure, an insert card so you can figure out what piece you got, and a Resin Is King sticker. Randomly placed will be a number of Golden Tickets which will get you FREE stuff like resin figures from various artists in the series, discounts in our shops, etc.

The big release of Resin Is King Series 3 will be at the opening of NYCC on October 6 at the Javits Center in NYC. Come to Booth 309 in the center of the Block to say hello and pick up your BBs. We will have a few opened BBs on hand so customers can buy a BB and swap for one of the opened pieces we have in our case. Some of the artists in the series will be on hand or nearby.

We are EXTREMELY proud of this superb series. All the artists brought their A games and designed and cast gorgeous miniature sculptures. We are proud to support and associate with all the resin artists involved! Looking forward to seeing everyone once again at NYCC.

Announcing Resin Is King Series 3 Release at NYCC

When do you announce new releases and/or NYCC drops? There's no clear right answer... I say, it's when half of your artists start posting about the series, that's about when you should think about making an official announcement!

We are very proud and excited to announce another series of beautiful, handcrafted resin sculptures: Resin is King Series 3. Resin Is King is a concept that Brian (Dead Hand Toys) and I came up with a few years back. There have been many production BB toy series, and several super tight custom Dunny and custom mini figure series that set a high benchmark for home-brew series. But, really, nothing for resin collectibles. So we did it ourselves.

Here are the details: Resin Is King is a blind-boxed series (mystery figures packaged in identical boxes). All pieces are just under 3" tall. For Series 3, we have 10 artists each contributing 10 pieces for a total of 100 blind boxes. Each artist's 10-piece run will be the same sculpt, but possibly involve different color variants and/or chase variants. The series will include a Golden Ticket (or maybe more than one?) included randomly inside the boxes. Each blind box will be $30. Boxes will include a numbering system on the bottom which will allow buyers to avoid picking 2 boxes from the same artist, without disclosing which artist's piece is inside. See? We are getting smarter!

We are now up to Series 3, releasing live at NYCC at our Booth #309 in The Block.

Preorder Nex by Dead Hand Toys today

This Friday, May 17th at 5pm EST, the original colorway of the newest Dead Hand Toys figure will go up for pre-order. "Nex" made it's first appearance at the Toys Are Us show last month in three versions. Two were exclusive to that show, the other was this original colorway. This is the one version Brian had in mind while sculpting.

A new run of Greads...

It's been a while, but this Tuesday I'll be releasing a new run of Greads. Each one, being made up of at least three different color resins, is one of a kind. They're all finished with a black rub and a gloss clear coat. Different than how I normally do releases, these will be sold blind bagged.These will be releasing this Tuesday, Feb. 12th at 5pm EST.
