Tenacious Toys & Matt A* Announce Angry Artist Reviews Episode #1: Funko Hikari Gold Skeletor Unboxing Video

Tenacious Toys is nonplussed at our own announcement of our new unboxing and review video serious by none other than the angriest artist in the toy scene: Matt "Angry Artist" Anderson!

Our buddy Matt destroys packaging, talks shit and points out the flaws in various toys that we stock!

He was doing this shit on his own crappy social media channels, and it was hilarious, but no one ever saw it because, frankly, most of you stopped paying attention to Matt about 3 years ago.

But, he's always been a friend, and he has thus far refused to take off that filthy monkey onesie, so we thought we'd stick the maniac on camera and blast his mean mug out to the world.

When I suggested this idea to him, I knew from the get-go that I'd be sending Matt stuff that he doesn't like. He doesn't like much, honestly, so like 95% of what we sell would be something Matt would rather shit on. Funko is definitely a company that Matt does not enjoy. So we sent him for his first review one of the 750 "24K Gold" color variants of the Masters of the Universe Skeletor Hikari figures made by.... Funko!

 Matt will be reviewing toys on our YouTube Channel weekly, so stay tuned for next week when he reviews a Jason Freeny x Mighty Jaxx item! We promise to occasionally send Matt something he likes, although we are not sure what that might be.

Tenacious Toys Targeted Emails: New, 3A, Funko, Kidrobot, Sofubi, Coarse Toys & Sale Lists

In order to deliver more useful content to our customers, we have established several segments for our email newsletters. That means you only sign up for the updates you want to receive, and that's all ya get!!


Our emails that go out Tuesday through Sunday are automated, which means they will always have the same subject line as the week before, but each will contain any new relevant items in the email.

If there's no new products to share with you that week, no email is sent. Pretty nifty!

Of course, our "General List" is still the best way to get an overview of what's new in our shop.

For you deal seekers, we've just set up a new Sale list which will email to you any items we've reduced in price over the past week.

The Coarse Toys list is not automated, since we get new Coarse items so infrequently. Benny just creates the email when there's something new from Coarse to sell.

Tenacious Toys Celebrates 13 Years on eBay

Over 6000 positive feedbacks - 100% positive feedback

As we come up on our 13th year of selling on eBay, we are celebrating the platform that launched our business.

Yes, it's true: in 2004 we didn't know the first damn thing about creating a website, and ecommerce was in its infancy in terms of technical sophistication, so we launched Tenacious Toys on the one platform that made sense to us: eBay.

Since then, of course, we figured out how to sell on our own independent ecommerce site, and later we also established accounts on all the different Amazon marketplaces. We even launched our own iOS app! But eBay holds a special place in our hearts. Back in 2004 on eBay we sold Little Apple Dolls, a few "urban vinyl" figures, and small selection of random toys we picked up from smaller vendors and indy producers like SKET ONE.

I remember spending a few hours on our Little Apple Dolls eBay listing because I had no idea what to say or how to present the product. Now I have apps and listing tools that can list hundreds of items at the same time, in seconds.

It hasn't been all peaches and cream. We've been blasted repeatedly on the Kidrobot forums for selling our products on eBay. We've also been called idiots for making our username on eBay "tenacioustoys" as the boardies think it's better to be deceptive and cheat customers (maybe because so many of them are flippers?). There are a few boardies who still hate us. ROFL! And Kidrobot, for a few years, prohibited us from selling their items on eBay. Thankfully that was overturned.

Fortunately, these days it seems that most customers and vendors understand that each retailer has a whole ecosystem of shops on various marketplaces, and we have to try to make sales wherever we can to stay in business. eBay is STILL an integral part of our ecommerce strategy, and while our monthly eBay sales numbers are lower than those of our regular website, eBay does add significantly to our gross sales. I will never apologize for using the eBay platform to make sales.

In a day and age where our beloved art toy retail shops are going under left and right, I have to say, I am thankful for eBay and for all of our customers who have stuck with us for over a decade. Here's to another decade of awesome toys!

What's included in the Clinical Clearance?
Way over 100 items are included in this sale: items from Kidrobot, Funko, The Loyal Subjects, tokidoki, Suckadelic, Artoyz and many other art toy manufacturers are included. ALL of our standard 4" Funko POPs are included. Many Dunnys qualify. Many blind boxes. Just tons of cool stuff. This is a painful exercise for us, but necessary to start the new year fresh.

Resin is King Series 3 Full Reveal - Release at NYCC Booth 309

As we prep this series for the big debut, we thought we'd FINALLY get you the full-on reveal of the 10 pieces in this blind box series!

Many of the artists cast their pieces in different colors, and finished with different paint jobs, so the pieces you see above may actually turn up in different color variants! Jacob JAMS and Magitarius, for example, each submitted 10 unique one of a kind pieces. NEMO's dogs are all similar but uniquely painted. Matt (Angry Artist) made pieces in 2 main colors (bronze and white) with a one-off clear chase figure with an LED inside! Scott (FOD) has a main colorway (pictured) and 2 other chase colors. Penny (Taylored Curiosities) has a main color (pictured) and a silver chase. Dead Hand Toys has 3 color variants, with the one pictured the most common and the other 2 as chases.

To recap this series: it contains 100 blind boxes. All pieces fit into 3" tall boxes. We have 10 artists who each submitted 10 pieces. Price of a blind box is $30. Each BB comes with a resin figure, an insert card so you can figure out what piece you got, and a Resin Is King sticker. Randomly placed will be a number of Golden Tickets which will get you FREE stuff like resin figures from various artists in the series, discounts in our shops, etc.

The big release of Resin Is King Series 3 will be at the opening of NYCC on October 6 at the Javits Center in NYC. Come to Booth 309 in the center of the Block to say hello and pick up your BBs. We will have a few opened BBs on hand so customers can buy a BB and swap for one of the opened pieces we have in our case. Some of the artists in the series will be on hand or nearby.

We are EXTREMELY proud of this superb series. All the artists brought their A games and designed and cast gorgeous miniature sculptures. We are proud to support and associate with all the resin artists involved! Looking forward to seeing everyone once again at NYCC.
