A group of archaeologists found a glowing stone, while traveling through the jungle overnight. The next day they realized that this mysterious stone belonged to a giant statue dedicated to the golden god. During the excavation process, one of the workers was mortally wounded, and as soon as the first drop of blood hit the statue, the statue awakened, as the stone turned to gold. This piece represents the golden god, mid-transformation.
Big C has done it again, this time using his talents to transform a Raw Paw (Coarse Toys) into the Golden God. I love the way he captured the effects of aged stone that has been sitting in the jungle, partially covered in moss and dirt. The transition from stone to gold is seamless and the greenish eyes and blood give this piece just enough color to make it pop. Oh....and did I mention that it glows? The glow on this piece is amazing.
Big C created this piece for his own personal collection, but he is willing to field offers.

In order to deliver more useful content to our customers, we have established several segments for our email newsletters. That means you only sign up for the updates you want to receive, and that's all ya get!!
Our emails that go out Tuesday through Sunday are automated, which means they will always have the same subject line as the week before, but each will contain any new relevant items in the email.
If there's no new products to share with you that week, no email is sent. Pretty nifty!
Of course, our "General List" is still the best way to get an overview of what's new in our shop.
For you deal seekers, we've just set up a new Sale list which will email to you any items we've reduced in price over the past week.
The Coarse Toys list is not automated, since we get new Coarse items so infrequently. Benny just creates the email when there's something new from Coarse to sell.
Below are our email list segments and their schedules:
Mondays - Benny's choice. General List gets a custom-made email about any new items Benny wants to highlight.
Tuesdays - Kidrobot day. Weekly email goes to Kidrobot list subscribers only, and only if we have have new KR items in our shop that week.
Wednesdays - Funko day. Weekly email goes to Funko list subscribers only, and only if we have have new Funko items in our shop that week.
Thursdays - Sofubi day. Weekly email goes to Sofubi list subscribers only, and only if we have have new sofubi items in our shop that week.
Fridays - New Items day. Weekly email goes to General List subscribers only, and only if we have have new items in our shop that week.
Saturdays - Sale day. Weekly email goes to Sale list subscribers only, and only if we have have items in our shop which have been reduced in price during the previous week. Easy way to keep track of price drops.
Sundays - 3A day. Weekly email goes to 3A list subscribers only, and only if we have have new 3A items in our shop that week.
If you are already on our General email list, you can still sign yourself up for the other lists by clicking here and checking the ones you are interested in.

Jon-Paul Kaiser always does amazing work when customizing any Coarse Toys figures. Jon-Paul's latest completed commission is no different. A Coarse Toys False Friends Noop and Paw set, which is pretty rare to find now-a-days, was offered up as custom fodder by a private client, for Jon-Paul to tackle. Created as a Superhero and Archenemy duo, Paw was created as the superhero, while Noop became the Archenemy(possibly a former Protege). As with many JPK customs, mainly paint was applied, to create shadows and depth for each figure in the set. Definitely a very nice piece for a lucky collector. As always, all the amazing pictures were captured by Justin Allfree. For those on the fence about getting a commission from JPK, might want to get on the list sooner than later.

Jon-Paul Kaiser's latest masterpiece is a Custom Coarsetoys Locks figure. Created to be both a character and a scene, this custom Locks features a serene looking monk passing through a narrow valley in the woods. On the raised arm, across the Valley, a bear is depicted, standing as he hears the monk passing through the valley, everything at peace. The face of the locks was painted in a way to provide it some character, while the scene is essentially a very intricate tattoo that exists on the Locks. A wonderful piece for Jon-Paul Kaiser to close the year on. As with all of Jon-Paul's work, photographer Justin Allfree is credited with capturing the beauty of all of Jon-Paul's custom Locks figure. Jon-Paul showed Justin all of his appreciation for Justin's help, guidance and amazing photography by gifting this Custom Locks figure to Justin. A stunning gift indeed. Jon-Paul should be gearing up for a strong 2015. What JPK has in store for the world, only time will tell.

Hello Friends,
Some of you know about my Penchant for "Urban Vinyl", some of you don't.
Urban Vinyl is a kind of Art Movement; born from out of the time when Graffiti became art, Urban Vinyl has become what has been a perfect marriage between Street Art and Progress.
This art form finds only as many facets as the Imagination will allow.
My personal Favorite piece is the "Dumb Luck" Bunny, by Gary Baseman (to the left). It is the first piece I ever bought. As my collection waxes and wanes, it will also be the last piece I ever
let go of.
It looks like a Toy, doesn't it? Well, that's the Raw Fun of Urban Vinyl, ART in the form of a toy.
Produced in limited numbers and often in several 'Colorways' they are collectible and somewhat rare.
And look at this piece, look how proudly this Bunny shows off his 'Lucky Rabbit's Foot' despite
the peg leg he has acquired to procure this 'magical implement'. Dumb Luck indeed.
Another group making history with these toys is called COARSE TOYS. The figures are angular
and bring to mind an appreciation for the Cubist Movement.
Artist Mark Landwehr's vision is often obscure and his subject matter leaves many details about what any particular piece is saying up to the viewer.
And as you see here to the right, another Rabbit. Teddy Bears, Rabbits and other traditional toy subjects
have been reinterpreted by these different artists in many different ways. In Landwehr's work, where the human subject is actually in conflict with these childhood characters, there seems to be some suggestion in tow about the nature of growing up and developing the courage to question the status quo.
The movement has taken many directions and has been interpreted by Artists of many genre's.
It has also been a driving force at times in addressing Social Issues.
Here I am bringing to your attention the work of both Mark Landwehr and Sven Waschk. They have
created for Amnesty International three different candles, each burns down to reveal a Bronze Statue and
these candles, they are currently on auction on eBay. There are 10 of each piece.
Please click on the video below and watch the short by Amnesty International
and please, take the time today . . . to do something for someone else in the world.
Thank You,
Lawrence

The henchman
“Hurry!” I shout again. “We don’t have much time!”
Raindrops go pitpat on my head, and if I didn’t come back soon with a catch, Mr. V is going to pluck the feathers right off me. Oh, I remember the last time he trusted me enough to let me leave my nest and go searching in the forest for one of our visitors. I'll never forget that night so long as my heart beats and my head turns and my eyes go blink in the morning.
Thruuuuuush! The wind nearly knocks me over. It would be such a good night for flying games. But no! No, focus! This isn’t time for flying games. This is my chance to help Mr. V bring the final catch to his island. If I get this girl on the boat and to the island in one piece I will get my golden block! When I bring it back to my nest, all the other omens will say, "How did you get such a shiny golden block?" and I’ll say, "Mr. V asked me to catch the visitor," and they’ll say, "I don’t believe you!" But they’ll have to believe me. The golden block will be my proof.
Focus, focus! Is that her? Is it? There’s something coming through the trees.
It is! I almost flap my wings together, but I remember to stand tall (as tall as a little omen like me can!) and greet her with authority and poise.
“Ahem,” I say. “I see you have found the passage.”
I can’t help it! Flipflapflip! My wings sputter together and she jumps back in surprise.
“The passage?” she mutters.
“Why yes. The passage is right this way.”
I know if I stand there any longer she will ask more questions. That was my problem the last time, with the boy. I almost had him with me and he said, “Where does the passage lead?” Instead of saying, “It will take you right home,” I said, “The island of Mr. V, where all the children go.” He dashed into the forest and we never saw him again. Oh, how stupid of me! An amateur move. A thoughtless amateur move.
I hobble down the path as quickly as I can, but not so quickly that I get too far ahead of her. Her footsteps still make noise, crackling over the forest's debris behind me.
“Right this way!” I say. “Just a little further!”
At the bottom of the slope, the branches and the bushes clear and we are standing before the lake, the boat bobbing at the end of the dock. And there he is! Oh, what a sight he is, there in the flesh, waiting for me —for me! His horse mask catches the light from the moon and for a second it looks like those false eyes are generating the light themselves, that Mr. V’s eyes are made of fireflies. Just to be in his presence, to feel his power—that’s worth all the golden blocks in this forest.
“Good evening, Mr. V!” I shout. “Our guest has arrived!”
She emerges from the trees and her mouth opens at the sight of the water, but she does not speak.
“What’s your name?” I whisper. “I forget to ask you your name!”
“R—Ruth,” she stammers.
The rain starts to pour down all over us, cleansing the mud off both our bodies.
“Don’t worry, Ruth. Mr. V is strong, and when he starts rowing, the wind will dry you good as new. Now let’s go! We don’t have much time!”
I run to the edge of the dock and puff out my chest as she picks up her pace behind me.
“Ahem,” I say, bowing before Mr. V. “Ruth is here!”
The catch
“Hurry!” says the voice. “Walk this way. No, not that way, this way! Let’s go!”
I am lost, and the world is dark, and the forest’s mossy floor is cool on my bare feet. I was maneuvering blindly for—for how long? How long could it have been? I had opened my eyes in the depths of the silence, my head on a pillow of wet leaves. Heavy, swollen raindrops lost their grip on either the clouds or the trees and came down in soothing thuds on my face, drawing me awake and into this world.
I stood up and walked for what felt like hours, trying to avoid tree trunks and rogue branches, praying for the sun to rise. The wind kicked up every so often nearly tossing me aside, or perhaps I just let it toss me aside. I was tired and wanted sleep. Under the covers in my own bed would have been ideal, but I would have fallen asleep anywhere, just so I could close my eyes, because if I closed my eyes I would not be here, lost in these unknown woods.
Then—
“Hurry!” A voice. It doesn’t sound human, but I follow it anyway, tumbling over fallen trunks and roots. Mud gets lodged under my fingernails and I can’t get this grime off my skin.
“I’m coming!” I say, though I can’t be sure of which way I walk. This darkness is so thick I can’t even tell if my eyes are open or closed, if I am awake or lost in the labyrinth of my own dream.
The seducer
It was almost impossible to even get her to come on board. That stupid, little creature could barely look her in the eye and lie. Eventually she came on after that little omen made up a pathetic story about a waterfall at the end of the lake, a waterfall that would take her home.
This will be the last time I ask this one to do anything. He’s more of a fool than I thought if he actually believes he will be flying back to his nest with one of my golden cubes. With him keeping watch I wouldn’t be surprised if we sailed into a rock. But he did get the catch. He got the girl. She’s the last one I need. The last one I need for the island.
Just then she talks. Her voice is feeble and meek.
“You aren’t taking me home, are you?” she whispers.
For the first time since she has been here, I speak.
“Nowhere near home," I whisper, letting go of a deep slow laughter that reverberates off the lake and echoes softly, deep into the darkness of her dream.
How do I order this set?
These three distinct vinyl figures are part of the most complex story ever told by coarse within the last 10 years. With a boat length of 16'' [40 cm], a width of 8.5'' [21.25] and a height reaching 11'' [27.5 cm], be prepared to unpack an impressive sculpture.
The elaborate group includes the huddled Ruth, the domineering Void gripping the oars, and his minion Omen keeping watch at the bow. All three characters have found themselves crossing the waters in a heavily loaded rowboat heading towards Void’s island in the night.
Twelve golden cubes are also on board, so Void will keep his removable Trojan horse mask fixed tightly to ward off any rogue omens who might try to swoop in and snatch his precious cargo.
