"ALL HAIL THE SUCKLORD. The high court of the Supervillain with the mostest is now in session! GOFN concludes its long-running interview series, Behind The Figure, with something truly special. And what's more, I secretly fluffed the whole thing - "roast" style - by peppering it with quotes from some beloved colleagues of the man behind the moniker that just keeps going, like the Energizer Bunny on steroids. In fact, just today I spoke with his buddy Kevin Malone who told me: "I still purchase from Morgan, but I was once picking up everything he released. He did a collaboration with Tyler Ham called the Suck One and it was basically a dick ship that Tyler had sculpted (lol) it was a great piece but I just couldn't bring myself to buy it and display it." Without further adieu, and with a hatful o' f-bombs....here comes the Sucklord, so candid, so righteously smart-ass. We bring you with the man of the (Suck)hour."
Check out the full interview at Go Figure News' website now.

Our friends at Go Figure News got the exclusive on reviewing our Suckadelic homage figure: Don Danger! We are truly thankful and blessed to have our very own bootleg action figure by Suckadelic which references our own dog (Tiny is pictured on the card) and our mascot (that's Danger!). And sorta me, in a way (Benny).
Great video review by TJ of GOFN. Check it out below or watch it bigger on YouTube here. Don't forget to go check out GOFN's website where they post up superb, original content like this video review.

Sucklord and I are very excited to show off a little bit more of what we will have on hand Friday night at his studios: He's going to be offering blind boxes for the first time, and they're price at just $25 each! Apparently each will contain a one of a kind figure (above).
Tenacious Toys will be rolling up with a wide selection of factory-made and hand-made collectibles. We will have some older Funko POP Rides and Hikari at insanely low prices, a Star Wars 6" action figure boxed set also at a discount, a grip of NEW Funko POPs that you've never seen before because they arrived yesterday: Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, UFC and Hillary Clinton! Yeah. Also on hand will be toys by Sketchbot, Yummyworld, 123KLAN, Jason Freeny, Toy2R, and Android plus resin by Forces of Dorkness, the last BLUE BOX by Carson Catlin, DIYs by RIVALs, and probably more that I couldn't cram into this image (below).
We will be making deals and accepting both cash and cards. MOST items from our stock will be sold for under retail and in some cases UNDER WHOLESALE so get there early and claw your way to the front.
In case you missed it, the location is:
Suckadelic, 99 Canal Street #3C, New York, NY 10002
Ring the buzzer for #3C.
Join the Facebook event here to talk shit! Some of you LOVE talking shit! See you tomorrow!

What are you doing Friday night after Vin kicks you out of the TOOFLY show at MyPlasticHeart at 10PM? I'll tell you what: you're going to mosey down Forsyth Street to Canal, hang a left, and go to 99 Canal. Ring #3C, and that's where I'll be with a bunch of toys.
TENACIOUS TOYS POP UP SHOP!
I think this is the first time we've done a pop-up shop!
The first AFTER HOURS SUCK SALON is a pop-up shop/event/hangout/sleazy money grab at the Sucklord's studio. Beer and enjoyment is welcome and encouraged! Also, bring cash and buy something or we will burn the place down. At the pop-up shop you will find a selection of Tenacious Toys merchandise at a discount, plus a wide selection of Suckadelic merchandise.
We will be there starting at 9pm and going till... who knows.
Below is a map in case you're lacking maptitude.
If you have GPS or Google maps, you are traveling from:
MyPlasticHeart 210 Forsyth Street, New York, NY 10002

The Sucklord. Likely the most outspoken and brutally honest player in the Designer Toy game over the last decade. A smooth pimped out hustler who knows how to get his. He maintains integrity even through the trials that would turn lesser artists to quitting or selling out to the man. Even when he fails he does so spectacularly, maintaining dignity and respect, coming out on top anyway. Often imitated but never diminished.
Here we drop the first exclusive on Tenacious Ninja, an interview looking into the current state of the Suckadelic Universe!
Is this your first interview of 2016?
No, probably my Third. They come at me fast and I usually do them all. This is the first one since I started the SUCKHOUR, so you got your exclusive there. For now.
So you started the new SUCKHOUR weekly video podcast show. 52 shows in a year, that’s ambitious! How’s that going so far?
Currently going 4 shows in 4 weeks, so I guess a good start. Some money has also come in, and that’s encouraging. Keeping it up at this rate for a year may be challenging, but who am I to not completely overload myself with constant busywork day after day after day. I need shit to do.
Do you have plans to take The SUCKHOUR on the road at all? Maybe to conventions?
Yeah, sure. In theory anyway. It needs to get a little more up to speed for that to happen. But Yes, there are plans to make plans. Live shows etc, with a DJ.
Have you played New York out and have you considered living anywhere else for a while?
No not yet. It’s heartbreakingly awful to see the way giant chunks of the city are being consumed by trendy hotels and outrageously expensive condos, and seeing the demographics switch from a multi-Multi cultural place to a wasteland filled with corny artificial white people. Everything strange and cool about NY is fading fast, But I still hold my freaky little corner down and I intend to hold the line as long as I can. I still love it here and get a lot of energy from it. My family is here, so no, I’m not done yet. It’s a goo place to be to make money, But Someday I will leave, most likely to the West Coast to do TV stuff when that finally comes to fruition.

Super Sucklord has taken his Bootleg, Suckpanel and Mashup series and crammed them all together in one terrible package, the Suckpanel Grande. Each one of these measures 14" across (heights vary slightly) and are mounted on 1/2" plywood with hanging hardware mounted on the back. Each will be produced in editions of 10 pieces. They won't be available in the online store but you can contact those jerkbags here for info and pricing. And as always, you're an asshole if you don't buy one.

Announcing our August 16th Monster Kolor custom show and pinstriping demo at PIQ inside Grand Central Terminal! Curated by Matt Walker of Monster Kolor and me, Benny Kline of Tenacious Toys, this show will feature 20 artists who work with various Monster Kolor brand paint products. Expect to see monsters, robots and all manner of freaky, vividly-colored creations! Sure to inspire you to create your own custom toys... I got hooked the very first time I used Monster Kolor paints.
Soft opening Aug 15 immediately after I set up the show, but if you can, come August 16th at 3pm to meet Matt Walker and the Monster Kolor artists and get schooled at Matt's 3pm pinstriping demo. If you're in town Aug 17 for the NY NOW trade show, there will be a party in the evening at PIQ as well to kick off the convention! I will be there in the shop all 3 days.
Come to the Shuttle Passage in GCT to find PIQ, which is NYC's premier and most conveniently located art toy shop. Many of the participating artists will be in attendance.

It's not every day that you get a call from the Super Sucklord, inviting you to his workshop.
When he calls, you show up. One thing I've learned from my years of knowing Morgan is that you gotta show up with beer. This time he had his own (and he was disgusted by the cheap swill I brought) so I got to drink both the beer I brought for myself, as well as the beer I brought for him. Win.
Turns out the Sucklord's current digs are on the same floor as Buff Monster's studio, which I also got to tour... without my camera, at Buff's request. Sorry everyone!
When I walked in, this is exactly what was happening: the Sucklord and the Crystal Pharaoh were at a table, going through 70s-era men's magazines, looking for amusing and aesthetically interesting pages. In case you don't follow the Super Sucklord, his Suckadelic brand was founded on the concept of the bootleg toy. His iterations of Star Wars bootleg-style toys get spun with his own bawdy concepts and impure thoughts, and packaged into well-executed custom action figure blister cards which, in my opinion, elevates the concept from straight bootlegging into an artform.
You see, I've had this conversation many times before with all kinds of different people: what is art? What defines the concept of "art"? My brother the lawyer has his own interpretation- some things I consider art, he does not. And, to each his own, of course. The Super Sucklord and I differ in our opinions as well. I ALREADY think that the consistently well-executed bootleg figures he got famous for making are, in fact, a niche form of pop art. The Suckadelic bootleg pieces draw upon imagery which is built into our psyche, as 30-40 somethings growing up in the Star Wars era.
But the Sucklord will be the first to tell you that Star Wars-related bootleg figures have been overdone. It's not like the Sucklord did it first, it's just that he did it early, and the most, and in the most public way. Dressing up in the custom Boba Fett helmet and making dozens (hundreds?) of public appearances in character as the Super Sucklord pretty much solidified his place at the top. And possibly netted him the reality-show screen time he enjoyed recently. He just doesn't consider bootleg figures to be "art."
So what now? Everyone's doing Star Wars rips. There are about 20 to 50 people actively creating bootleg-style toys in small multiples of 10 or 20 or 50. Morgan knows the artform he is famous for isn't so unique anymore. So when I walked in, he and the Crystal Pharaoh were poring over a stack of Playboys, looking for interesting pages to use in the new Suckadelic Suck Panels. Suck-Panels are, in my opinion, the natural progression of the Suckadelic bootleg-style multiple: they are all one of a kind pieces of art. Still referencing the same era (late 70s) but moving into new themes.
I personally think these new pieces are awesome... the Suckadelic keystone product has shifted from purposefully-crappy bootleg figures to one-off pieces of mixed-media pop art. The fact that Suck-Panels have some sort of plastic toy (or in some cases, random object) encased in a blister becomes simply a nod to the evolution of the Suckadelic brand- the plastic figure is part of the piece, but not all of it.
More importantly, he's having fun again. You can see Morgan is excited about creating the Suck-Panels, and really as an artist, that's what's important. I wish that for every artist I know- I wish for them to be perennially excited to create their art. When you lose that drive and that interest, it's time to mix things up and head in a new direction. That's what I see happening with Suckadelic.
There will be a few gripes about any new direction an artist takes. There was a post on the Galactic Jerkbags forum that lamented the fact that all the recent Suckadelic releases were one-offs: "as much as I love the Sucklord's work, my enthusiasm wanes a bit with each new piece that I'll more than likely never see in person."
Hate to break it to ya, Captain Completist, but that's the deal with most art: there's only one of each piece. It's up to you to do what you gotta do to acquire that piece.
Other Sucklord fans were more enthusiastic: "I used to love making collages and assemblages so this is really inspiring to see old stuff turned new."
And I think that's exactly the point: Suckadelic is mixing it up while still retaining the 70s vibe, and at the same time the Sucklord is reinvigorating the exclusivity that his earlier, smaller-run pieces had. If you want to snag some Suckadelic bootleg action figures made in multiples, you can always head to the Suck Store.
But if you wanna add the new Suck-Panels to your pop art collection, you're going to have to follow @sucklord on Instagram. As he puts it here: "if you really want one, you'll find a way to get it."
