New Release "ST-60" by Patrick Wong fuses the Stormtrooper and the Sampler

Patrick Wong announces his latest art figure preorder for "ST-60", a visual mashup of the Star Wars Stormtrooper helmet and the Akai MPC60 sampler. The new release should appeal to fans of Star Wars and music producers who worked with MPCs during lives.

The "ST-60" is the followup version to his own piece "ST-1200" completed back in December of 2015. Due to the popularity of that artwork, Wong decided to produce a small limited edition run of figures in a similar strategy but this time fusing the Stormtrooper with the popular MPC60 12-bit sampling drum machine first released in 1988.

Available for a short time until Feb. 4th, 2017. The limited edition figure is priced at $145, each piece is individually numbered, and includes an accessory "floppy disk". Patrick Wong is a professional illustrator and artist based in Vancouver, Canada. Rebel Troopers by Wild Westside

Back in 2014, Arik Ehle of Wild Westside, participated in "Project Legion", a group art show put on by Disney and Lucas Films. Featuring customized 6" Storm Trooper helmets, Arik's creation ended up being posted recently by the official Star Wars Instagram page and received a lot of great feedback. With all of the great responses, Arik decided to create a super limited run of Rebel Troopers, using almost Full Size Stormtrooper helmets and New Era Hats. Releasing on May 4th, each Rebel Trooper sculpture is priced at $225 plus shipping, with only four of the five pieces being made available. The fifth piece, the Silver and Black variant is going to be a  part of a Sol Republic Headphones giveaway, thus featuring some Sol Republic Headphones. No word on a time for release, but follow Arik on social media as Arik will be sure to have a release announcement.

Custom Artmymind Storm Trooper Helmets by Jon-Paul Kaiser

Jon-Paul Kaiser is awesome at putting his own take on pretty much any platform out there, including original sculpts he creates. Jon-Paul's latest completed commission goes perfect alongside the latest Star Wars trailer for Episode VII. Now, the commission has nothing to do with the latest trailer, but the completed pieces are a pair of custom Artmymind Stormtrooper/Samurai helmets. Each helmet is unique, with both having separate details and images. At a size of 3"x3"x2", these helmets are a nice size to work on. Jon-Paul left the original sculpt in tact, wanting to create a literal decorated helmet, adding the JPK-style to the helmets. While the front shows the JPK style of clean and simple accents, the backs of the helmets reveal a bit more, where Jon-Paul created a separate scenery image on the backs of each helmet. These pieces should make the lucky collector very happy. As with all of Jon-Paul's customs and work, the wonderful photos were taken by Justin Allfree.

Forces of Dorkness Bong Trooper drops this Sunday July 6th at 9PM EST

The second decorative waterpipe-style sculpture from Forces of Dorkness is the Bong Trooper a.k.a. TK-420. Each Bong Trooper piece is a solid resin hand painted graven image topped with a fully modern polycarbonate tube. The piece stands 7” tall and 3” wide. Each piece is hand made and will cost $40 plus shipping.

Please note, this unit is not functional as an actual waterpipe. Not because FOD can’t make one this small, but because using one this small is a stupid idea. More than likely you’ll just end up with a mouthful of water every time…with that said, it is watertight and can be used for things such as a bud vase, the world’s smallest column aquarium, a XXL shotglass, a spittoon, a jelly bean holder... the options just go on and on and on.

Bong Trooper will drop at 9PM EST on July 6th on the Tenacious Toys Super Series Sundays page. July 7th will mark the last day of sale of the earlier Jesus H. Waterpipe piece.

Stormtrooper Helmets Reimagined by Celebrities & Artists will be on Display in Celebration of the Global Fan Holiday, May the 4th

Lucasfilm, Disney Consumer Products and Neff announced today the upcoming Star Wars Legion exhibition. Artists from across The Walt Disney Company including Lucasfilm, Industrial Light and Magic, Marvel and Pixar—as well as select street artists chosen by Neff and celebrity Star Wars fans –all come together to create individualized interpretations of the iconic stormtrooper helmet in celebration of the global fan holiday, Star Wars Day or “May the 4th be with you.”

“Creativity has been a hallmark of the Star Wars franchise for over 35 years,” said Troy Alders, Lucasfilm Creative Director for Disney Consumer Products. “May the 4th is a perfect time to celebrate this fantastic group of artist’s unique creations and share them with Star Wars fans.”

“As a lifelong Star Wars fan, it’s been a dream of mine to collaborate with Lucasfilm,” says NEFF Founder and CEO, Shaun Neff.   “Teaming up with some of the most prominent street artists from around the world, we are thrilled to work alongside The Walt Disney Company—to re-imagine such an iconic piece of cinematic history as the stormtrooper.”

#Maythe4thSG Custom Stormtrooper Helmet Show in Singapore to Benefit Charity

May the 4th is known worldwide as a day when we celebrate all that is great about Star Wars. In Singapore, they are throwing a custom show using the 5" Stormtrooper helmet by Imagine Nation Design Studios in the Philippines as a base for customs. Sales will benefit the Willing Hearts charity.

Singapore – 23 April 2014 – May The Fourth Be With You. Maythe4th.SG presents Singapore’s first fan-driven Star Wars Day – May The 4^th SG. 

May The 4^th SG is the inaugural celebration of the legendary film series, books, toys and culture of Star Wars, conceived out of the fervent passion and love a group of Star Wars fans share for the epic film series. By fans for the fans, May The 4^th SG presents a myriad of activities including Star Wars documentary screening and special appearances by 501^st Legion Singapore Garrison and FightSaber Singapore. 

Expect nothing short of epic from the programme line-up that will reminiscence, revive and honour the 37 year-old film series. The line-up includes a display of Star Wars toys by Hasbro Singapore, “Once-Upon-A-Stormtrooper” fan fiction contest, storytelling and ‘live’ doodling sessions by the artists from Band of Doodlers, the very first documentary screening in Singapore of Plastic Galaxy: A History of Star Wars Toys by Brian Stillman, X-Wing Miniatures tabletop game demo, workshops and activities for kids and fanatics. 

Attendees will also be treated to a performance and workshop session by FightSaber Singapore, South East Asia’s premier lightsaber performance troupe, and the exclusive sale of custom stormtrooper helmets by local and overseas artists where all proceeds from sale of the helmets will go towards helping the less privileged. 

Catherine Lim, brand manager of Hasbro Singapore says, “I am definitely bringing my kids to support the event.” Event organisers from Maythe4th.SG, Hansen Khoo and Jeffrey Koh of FLABSLAB, promise that audiences will be seeing some Star Wars items for the first time at the event and this is just a lead-up to a bigger and highly anticipated event in 2015 for the new Star Wars movie in the second half of 2015. 

 Supported by the National Library Board of Singapore, May The 4^th will be held at the Jurong Regional Library on May 4th 2014, Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm. The opening ceremony will see 501^st Legion Singapore Garrison, the largest garrison in South East Asia, grace the grounds in welcoming guests to the celebration.
