Irresponsibility - the Mr. Toast Card Game by Dan "Mr. Toast" Goodsell

Mr. Toast, Dan Goodsell, recently launched an Indiegogo to fund the creation of "Irresponsibility the Mr Toast Card Game". For the last 6 months or so, Mr. Toast has been working on creating the Mr. Toast Card Game. With Table Top games becoming more and more popular, thanks to Kickstarter, Hasbro Gaming Lab actually launched a contest to find the "Next Great Game". Mr. Toast decided to enter his game and out of over 500 entries, the Mr. Toast Card Game was chosen as one of the 5 finalist. To collaboration with Hasbro Gaming Lab, Indiegogo became the crowdfunding platform which will play a role in deciding the winner of the contest. The 5 Indiegogo campaigns will end on December 1, while the Grand Prize winner will be chosen by Hasbro on December 3rd. The Grand Prize Winner will be awarded $10k and a trip to Hasbro HQ to help make the party game become more of a reality. For all those who read this, take some time to read Mr. Toast's Indiegogo campaign and make a pledge to the campaign. If funds are low, why not just spread the news and help get the campaign in front of as many eyes as possible. With several reward tiers, there is something for everyone, in addition to copies of the card game. Scribe's Blue Moon Artist Series Label Contest

The brewing company Blue Moon recently announced their artist series of limited edition labels that will grace the bottles of their wonderful brew. Among those "20 Up-and-Coming" artists (Blue Moon's words) is a familiar name, Donald Ross, aka Scribe. His painting was turned into a bottle label, which can can be purchased today in special 20 count packaging. To along with the artist series is the artist series contest, where Facebook users can vote on his/her favorite design, to determine the top 10 designs and giving their favorite artist a chance at $20,000. Voting runs now until August 31st, 2015. All any Facebook user has to do is head over to Blue Moons Facebook page and in the album of Artist Series: 20 Up-and-Coming Artists, "Like" his her favorite design. Just click on Scribe's design, or any others for that matter, and click the Like button. Congrats to Scribe on having his wonderful design picked and good luck to Scribe in the contest.

FREE GIVEAWAY Contest: Toy Fair Exclusive Maisto 1949 Mercury

Toy Fair is always a good time, and the fun doesn't end when I leave the convention center... at night you get to see which of my fellow retailers have pillaged the vendors' freebies and are flipping them on eBay! Case in point: for the 2013 Toy Fair, the fine folks at Maisto made these exclusive 1:64 scale 1949 Mercurys in their awesome Muscle Machines line. This is basically a repaint of the purple 1949 Mercury that Maisto released in 2012.

If you check eBay, you can see these being flipped- successfully- for up to $60 each! That's a whole lot to pay for a 1:64-scale vehicle that should retail for $5.

At Tenacious Toys, we do not take advantage of the collectors like that. Instead, we're GIVING THESE AWAY. I'm keeping one (hey, I collect too), but I've set aside 3 to give away, for free, to members of our shops email list.

Dudebox and Parsons New School for Design Teamup

Dudebox (a new UK based vinyl toy producer) and Parsons New School for Design (probably best known from Project Runway) have teamed up to display concepts by Parsons BFA Illustration students at this years New York Comic-con. Students created dozens of concepts both by hand and digitally and those have been narrowed down to four. One lucky winner will be announced at a press event at the Dudebox booth (#2915) on October 11 at 6:30pm. In addition to a cash prize, the winner will also see their design be produced by Dudebox in an upcoming series.
