Funko Hikari My Little Pony Rainbow Dash: the best Pony, obviously.

There's been a lot of discussion about which Pony is best, and I'm afraid I've been right all along: it's Rainbow Dash. Sorry, guys.

Knowing that Rainbow Dash is the best Pony, I placed an order for (10) of the Original Glitter Rainbow Dash figures by Funko. Only 1000 were made and I tried to order more but they were like ummmm no, you get 10. So 10 it is.

FREE GIVEAWAY Contest: Toy Fair Exclusive Maisto 1949 Mercury

Toy Fair is always a good time, and the fun doesn't end when I leave the convention center... at night you get to see which of my fellow retailers have pillaged the vendors' freebies and are flipping them on eBay! Case in point: for the 2013 Toy Fair, the fine folks at Maisto made these exclusive 1:64 scale 1949 Mercurys in their awesome Muscle Machines line. This is basically a repaint of the purple 1949 Mercury that Maisto released in 2012.

If you check eBay, you can see these being flipped- successfully- for up to $60 each! That's a whole lot to pay for a 1:64-scale vehicle that should retail for $5.

At Tenacious Toys, we do not take advantage of the collectors like that. Instead, we're GIVING THESE AWAY. I'm keeping one (hey, I collect too), but I've set aside 3 to give away, for free, to members of our shops email list.

Free 3D Model from Shinbone Creative

3D maestro Scott Wetterschneider (one of the folks behind Shinbone Creative) was kind enough to give a great peek behind the curtain of how his process works by giving away a 3D model! This was done as a lesson but wouldn't look out of place on the shelf.  Grab it here in .obj and .ztl (if you don't have ZBrush, you should be able to use Sculptris or Blender - both free - to open the file).

Everyone with a genuine interest in making production quality toys should at least be conversant in some form of 3D modeling.  This isn't a "gloom and doom" prediction for traditional sculptors, it is a tool just like anything else.  I hope you will take my advice - stop worrying and love the bomb!

Get ready everyone: Matt Anderson has a great giveaway idea this holiday season: he's going to give away two of his amazing customs to two worthy people! Here are the details, straight from Matt:
