INCOMING: Voltaire Deady Bunee and Sleezter Bunee Mini Qees

We're really excited to continue our support of our favorite Goth (and minor local celebrity) Voltaire by stocking all 4 of his upcoming Toy2R Mini Qee releases: Deady Bunee (in both Color and Black/White colorways) and Sleezter Bunee (in both Color and Black/White colorways).

Deady Bunee and Sleezter Bunee are the next figures in Voltaire's popular collaboration with online role-playing game Adventure Quest.

Like the 8" Deady Bear Qee and the 5" Deady Big in Japan Mini Qee before them, all of these Bunee figures come with a game code for Adventure Quest. You can read more about that popular promotion here.

Deady and Sleezter Bunee Qees are just $28 each, no matter which colorway. You can preorder the Color versions on our site here, and as soon as we get word that they've arrived, we'll put up the Black/White versions for sale as well (FYI Black/White colorways are apparently short-packed in the cases, meaning a case of 12 Deadys will contain 8 Color figures and 4 Black/White figures).

Urkor Malravenous Mini Qee available at Voltaire.net

The Urkor Mni Qee figure from Toy2R is now available exclusively on Voltaire's website. Scroll down and it's about halfway down- there's a Paypal "Buy Now" button and it's $35 shipped. Toy2R only made 500 of them, and Voltaire has 250 to sell. The other 250 figures were sold by Adventure Quest Worlds' online store (Heromart.com), and Heromart is now sold out. 

AQW was selling these because the figure includes a special code that will unlock a shop in the game with 2 exclusive AQWorlds pets: the Necrosian Walker and the Necrosian Skullbat. There are two versions of each pet (normal pet, and also a member-only Battle Pet version which is Necromancer compatible).

I don't play AQW but I love this Qee so much that I think I might have to hit Voltaire up for one of them...

Just when collectors thought one artist series was enough, Toy2R proudly announces the debut of the Skelanimals Qee Artist Series Collection. Series 1 prototypes will be on display during SDCC through Skelanimals, booth #4513.

Check out the newest characters to join the Qee Universe (Chungkee & Marcy) in this unique collaborative series of one of the biggest global brands in the world, one of the original designer toy companies and 8 respected designer toy artists / customizers. This series will feature designs by Chauskoskis, Jim Koch, Frank Mysterio, Reactor 88, Voltaire, Julie West, Jon Paul Kaiser and Lunabee. Also included wil be traditional classic versions of the Skelanimals characters and of course, special chase figures all sporting a keychain attachment to make it easier to carry around everywhere.

The line launches with the GID Chungkee Qee exclusive (above) being offered by Fugitive Toys during SDCC at booth #334. This pre-launch figure will only be available at SDCC and not be included in future releases, so collectors take note!

We will be stocking the Skelanimals Qee Series at Tenacious Toys in blind box and open-box form, for your collecting pleasure!

SNEAK PEEK: Skelanimals 2.5-inch Qee Series 1 by Toy2R

Series 1 will feature the Skelanimals characters Chungkee and Marcy as the platforms for design. Series 2, planned for the winter, will feature Dax, Kit and Jack, all in Qee form. And just like regular Qees, each figure will include a keychain attachment!

Series 1 will include designs by Jon-Paul Kaiser, Reactor 88, Julie West, Lunabee, Frank Mysterio, Jim Koch, Chauskoskis and Voltaire. There will also be variant chase versions inserted randomly in the 25pc counter displays, as well as original classic styles of each Skelanimal character.

Toy2R expects to drop Series 1 of the Skelanimals Artist Qee Collection in late July to early August. Early word has it that there will be some exclusive pre-launch figures available during this year’s SDCC event to wake the dead! And of course we'll have some for sale in our Toy2R Qee section. Expect the blind boxed assortment to retail for about $9.99 each.

Skelanimals x Qee 2.5” Artist Series Collection by Toy2R

The dead need love too and now you can express it with Dax, Kit, Marcy, Jack and Chungkee from the global phenomenon, Skelanimals, created by Mitchell Bernal!

Toy2R offers this teaser for the 2010 assortment of newly designed 2.5” Qee characters based on the Skelanimals core characters to be released worldwide. To add a unique spin to the line – the collection will feature “inspired by” original designs by some of the best designer artists from across the globe. More than 20 artists are participating in the first unearthly endeavor to bring Skelanimals to life in the designer figure realm.

Participating artists will include Jon Paul Kaiser, Pocketwookie, Voltaire, Frank Mysterio, Julie West, Lunabee, Chauskoskis, Reactor-88 and more!

The collection will include a wide variety of artistic interpretations, all capturing the essence of the Skelanimals universe. This is going to be a large, long-tern collaboration for Toy2R, and I know it's going to look great!

Voltaire (musician, toy designer and creator of the DEADY graphic novel series) has teamed up with one of the web's most popular massive multi-user online role-playing games to create one of the more exciting DEADY toys made to date, the ADVENTURE QUEST DEADY 8" Qee!

This Qee (by the premier designer vinyl company Toy2R) is the product of a unique collaboration. On Friday the 13th, March, 2009, Voltaire (in animated form) along with his evil teddy bear, DEADY, led a LIVE, 3-hour quest on the on-line game, Adventure Quest Worlds. Players who tuned in, followed Voltaire and Deady onto a haunted pirate ship, sailed across monster infected waters and landed on the shores of Skull Punch Island in search of a cursed guitar. And all the while, Voltaire sang songs from his latest CD, "To The Bottom of the Sea".
Adventure Quest creators, Artix Entertainment, expected 11 thousand players. They were prepared for 25 thousand. After an unprecedented 30 thousand-plus players logged on to this one-time event, the servers crashed! (Hey, what do you expect on Friday the 13th?) But within moments, Artix had the game up and running again. The event proved to be so popular, that is has been added as a permanent fixture in the game and can be played at any time at www.AQ.com.

We just met with Toy2R at the Toy Fair and placed orders for a bunch of new stuff. Here are some pics of some interesting 2009 offerings from Toy2R:

Molly Series 1 Qees are sold out. Here is a case of the Molly Series 2 blind box Qees. Crown doubles as a chair for the figures.

This is a resurrected Doink Qee pillow that they initally made in very low quantities but they will be remaking to be sold for $30 apiece. Pictured next to an 8" Doink Qee and a Toyer Pillow.

This figure is the David Horvath 5" Crocadoca figure, the next figure in the series after Bossy Bear & Turtle.

These are the David Horvath Turtle figures: 3.5" Turtle, 7.5" Turtle, and the GID Flocked 3.5" Turtles, one of which will be our Tenacious Toys Exclusive colorway. We may get Pink or Blue as our exclusive, not sure yet. Apparently people loved them the other day at Yoyamart where they were revealed. They will be made in limited quantities of 100 to 200 per colorway. Each color will be an exclusive for a different shop.

Of course everyone knows Bossy Bear! The little ones are the 5" Bossy Bears that will come in an assortment pack that we may pick up. In the back is the big 8" Bossy. See that cool looking Bossy in the back that looks like wood? There will be a whole series of smaller Qees with the wood-color paint effects!
