Today we are sharing professional photos of some of the Funko Hikari 9-inch figures that we sell in our shop. This is a shoot of the Funko Hikari Transformers Optimus Prime Metallic finish figure.



The stock photos circulating on the web of the Hikari figures are woefully inadequate, so we figured we'd send some of these figures to several talented photographers to generate some really top-level imagery. This post contains photos by Jason Yang (IG: @workmoreorless) who was suggested to us by the toy photography gurus at EXCLU Collective.

In real life, Jason Yang uses his job as a commercial animator and illustrator to fund his ever growing toy collection and photography hobby. Really impressive. Price is high even for an "art toy" but actually not high for a "Premium Scale" collectible: $390. And that includes shipping. So, if you're a Transformers super fan, or a 3A super fan, these pieces will pretty much cap off your collection. Not every kid on the block will have a 15" $400 Bumblebee.... Buy this figure now at the Bambaland store.

I'm waiting for the full Premium Optimus Prime with the unfolding trailer. Isn't Optimus taller than Bumblebee? So he'd be like 20 inches tall with a 4 foot long trailer or something? Toyporn!!!

The Loyal Subjects Transformers Custom Show at Toy Tokyo February 15

TLS is bracing for the year that is Transformers...

What better way to kick Toy Fair off with a Party and Art Show at the legendary Toy Tokyo in NYC.  The Art Show will feature some of today's best Illustrators, Customizers and Artists as they take their hand at Transforming the TLS DIY Optimus Prime. 

Each artist will have an Original Art piece accompany their Prime.  Each piece will be available for purchase from the Gallery.  We also will be featuring some Exclusive Slag T-Shirts, a Soundwave Hoodie, the 2 Pack Cybertron Set and the 3 Pack Rainmaker set as well as the first time debut of the Ultra Magnus figure (pictured below).  Refreshments, Beverages and Snacks will be on hand.  Come enjoy yourself, soak in the talent and let's cheers to 2014 in NYC style!

The Loyal Subject are back with more awesome G.I. Joe 3" figures!  This time they're bringing you some SDCC exclusives.  First up is the Radioactive Snake Eyes (GID) vs. Camouflage Storm Shadow.  Snake Eyes comes with GID sword and uzi and Storm Shadow includes ninja sword and smaller ninja sword. Next is the Iron Grenadiers Destro x Gold Cobra Commander, both blinged out like they just had a visit from Goldfinger.

Each set of highly detailed figures will be limited to 500 pieces.  While these will be released at SDCC a few will be available online shortly after the con.  Stop by booth #5645 on Friday, July 19th from 3-4PM for the Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow set and Saturday, July 20th from 2 - 3PM for the Destro/Cobra Commander set.  Series designer Les Schettkoe will be on hand at both releases to sign your shiny new toys.

Flight 3" Dunny by Kano

Kidrobot and Kano, of Kanokid Studios, release the first Dunny of 2013, a 3" Dunny titled "Flight". The Dunny features a uniquely shaped head and a color scheme reminiscent of the old Transformers cartoon and toys. This Dunny design is limited to 3000 pieces and what looks to be 3 different colorways, however, there is no word on color ratios. The red, white and blue version is the main colorway, with the picture being on the Dunny box. Also, a purple and black colorway was leaked on Trampt. Nothing yet on the third colorway, but I'm hoping that the color is going to have more blues. If the color schemes look or sound familiar to anyone, just think Thundercracker or Thrust, Starscream, and Skywarp. Of course this is a reach, since there is no official word of what the influence behind Kano's design, but there seems to be more than meets the eye.

 

The Flight Dunny will be hitting stores on January 17th and will retail for $14.95 US, £12 UK, and €13.90 EU, depending on your location.

Some Assembly Required custom Transformers Bumblebee by Daniel Yu

Some Assembly Required is new custom by Daniel Yu. This is a repurposed Takara Tomy DMK02 Bumblebee model kit, done up for the forthcoming Transformers Cybertron Con 2012 in Singapore which runs from the 11th till the 14th of March. A total of 50 local and international artists were invited to customize either an Optimus Prime or Bumblebee kit which would be part of a custom showcase at the convention.

More amazing work by Daniel Yu! As an aside, if I ever started a band, I would call it "Superfluous Kibble." Just sayin.
