by
http://bit.ly/C4K2017

Creatures for Kids is a unique charity art auction which donates all proceeds from sales of artists’ work to a local, child-focused non-profit organization.

In its fourth year, Creatures for Kids is excited to partner again with the Vinyl Thoughts Art Show, the largest vinyl toy show in Texas, at this year’s Vinyl Thoughts Art Show 7. More than 500 art lovers will gather in Deep Ellum at Quixotic World, 2824 Main Street on July 7, 2017 from 7:00pm-11:00pm. The show will provide a separate area featuring toy and art pieces donated by generous artists specifically to Creatures for Kids, who has chosen CHILDREN AT RISK as the sole beneficiary. CHILDREN AT RISK has been dedicated to comprehensively addressing children’s issues through research, community education, collaboration, and advocacy since 1989. All proceeds will help foster positive impacts for children in health, food insecurity, human trafficking, and education.

“It’s really been a blessing to work with such incredible artists and the great team at Children at Risk. This event is such a blast to work on and so fun to see so many artists join together to help such a great cause.” says Toby Grauberger, Founder of Creatures for Kids.

Along with a slew of great local and national artists, music, and drinks for guests, this free event will include over 20 artists who have donated resin and vinyl toys, prints and custom sculptures to Creature’s for Kids, featuring award winning toy artists The Bots, Mike Fudge, Seriously Silly K and many more incredible artists. The event has been generously sponsored by The UPS Store at Lemmon Ave and The Tollway, Dallas.

JFury and Playful Gorilla Animal Instincts Show Opens May 5th at Mothership in Philly

by

In our most vivid dreams we stare into the vastness of why we create and question it all. Unbridled talent being held down with the chains of life, begging for just one chance. When brute strength and shear brawn is broken it leads to one path. A path down the road of pure exhaustion and failure. It is here where we must take all the negativity around us and see life through the eyes of cartoony colored glasses. It is here where we must depend on our spirit animal, our inner Gorilla or Voodoo Bunny. Sometimes all we have left to fight the good fight is pure Animal Instincts.

JFury and Playful Gorilla Proudly Present: “Animal Instincts” featuring new artworks by both artists. A unique combination of toy customisation, illustration, painting and resin casting, these two established artists bring a cartoon style full of clean lines and bright colors. Known for goofy animal character aesthetic, “Animal Instincts” will combine the Voodoo Bunny, Pitbull, Gorilla and Primate artwork of both artists on multiple mediums.

The show opening is being held May 5th, 2017 between 6pm - 9pm at:

Mothership Art Gallery and Designer Toy Store

223 W. Girard
Philadelphia, PA

There will be an after party hosted by DJ Emynd at The Barbary, 951 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125.

Please contact Alex (playfulgorilla@gmail.com) to be added to the guest list. After the show opening on the 5th all remaining artwork will be found online at www.mothershipgallery.com. With door prizes, a 20” Munny raffle, drinks, snacks and free hugs, this show will almost guarantee you a great time!

Foox interviewed in Creem about his New Money show

by
I had the distinct pleasure of attending the opening night party of Foox's New Money show at a hidden back bar in the ridiculously swank Beautique next to The Plaza and the Fifth Ave Apple store.

This was the first time in my life I was escorted into hidden lounge literally through the kitchen... One of those quintessentially New York "Baller Moments" you only see in movies.

When I tell you that Foox operates at the next level, this is why.

Check his short but sweet interview in Creem Magazine here:

PIQ Opening at Grand Central Terminal, New York; Supporting Local Artists Like Jason Freeny

by
I cannot adequately describe to you how excited I am about the opening of the new PIQ store in Grand Central... I have been wanting to bring art toys to an uptown NYC shop myself for 9 years now... I just never had the capital to make that a reality. So when I found out (through my friend Jason Freeny's FB feed) that his products were being featured in a new shop in Grand Central, possibly the most convenient and accessible location in all of New York City, I was SO STOKED!

Now PIQ has contacted me to make a blog post about their shop. From the images they provided, it looks like they have an AMAZING selection of new and old vinyl art toys, from Freeny and JLED to NadaOne, Toy2R... next time you visit NYC, GO TO PIQ! I'm gonna visit as soon as I get back from vacation in early February.

THE SARUT GROUP, a leader in the gift industry, and widely known for their vibrant collection of eclectic gifts, has announced the roll out of their new retail store concept called PIQ.

The PIQ stores were first introduced in 2012 at Universal CityWalk, Orlando and Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. The stores themselves, bold, bright with a very contemporary look, are replete with unique and unexpected items. PIQ features designer toys, focusing on vinyl collectibles, books, limited editions, and rare pieces from such names as Frank Kozik, Ron English and Buff Monster. Other gift items include games, chic home and kitchen accessories, nostalgic souvenirs, funky novelty items as well as rare pop culture finds. Partnerships with established and upcoming designers such as Jason Freeny, Robin Van Valkenburgh or established vendors like DKE comprise a major part of the PIQ brand and showcase the unique merchandise that PIQ brings to the marketplace. The first PIQ New York City store opened mid January 2014 in Grand Central Terminal, Shuttle Passage.

Street Artists Unite show at Dorian Grey Gallery June 27

by
Some people we know in this show: Cope2, Kid Lew, See One and Fumero are all local artists who I've worked with, hung out with, collaborated with or just been to their shows...

A new name to me- Screwtape- turns out to be a friend as well. He's the boyfriend of my friend Lis from college. I hear he's a talented stuntman (seriously) but i know for a fact he's a damn fine painter. Crazy talent in this show. Do not miss it.
