Loyalty is SUPREMELY important to us, professionally and personally, so we go the extra mile for our top supporters. As a tiny business, having repeat customers who come back to us time and again is literally vital to the success of our shop.

13in Shagghoulies by We Become Monsters drop Nov 14

by
For November, we have SHAGGHOULIE!

Available online at http://webecomemonsters.storenvy.com/ this Friday, 11/14, at noon Pacific time. $75USD plus shipping. 8 available.

A traditional ghoul is a desert-dwelling, flesh eating demon. In ancient times, ghouls dwelled in burial grounds and other uninhabited places. The Shagghoulie is a fiendish type of modern ghoul, residing in the Las Vegas area.

While ancient ghouls lured unwary people into the desert wastes or abandoned buildings to slay and devour them, modern Shagghoulies lure only the semi-wary, and tend to attack in highly populated areas as a group, using a swarming action.

Luckily, they no longer kill. These weirdos are content to simply eat the hair, fingernails, dry skin, and any other dead tissue of the living. The creatures also prey on young children's shoelaces, drink rum, steal credit cards, and, on holidays eat the dead. They also have a nearly fatal fashion sense, stunning their prey with their fabulous shaggadelic jumpsuits.

They are known to be mediocre public speakers and occasionally suffer from dandruff. They are great dancers but highly antisocial. Do not approach or attempt to touch them. If they become startled, the fur of their shag suits can stiffen to needle-like spines.

One of each available except Silvarr (edition of two). Roughly 13 inches tall. Articulated 1:6th scale body with custom resin hands, feet and head, and hand sewn jumpsuit. Hand cast, hand painted, articulated resin art toy / mixed media.

All orders get a free micro SLAB (while supplies last) and entered for random drawings to get a full size WBM SLAB. SLABs are our waste reduction program that turns waste resin into art. Liking www.facebook.com/webecomemonsters also adds another chance for a large size SLAB.

Slabs are running low, this release may be the last to offer them. All orders get some stickers too.

7 Seal Sneak Peek: Cash Cannon's 3rd Horseman "Famine"

by
With a little help from some of our friends, Cash Cannon has been learning a lot about making resin figures this past few months. It's really opening up his skill set to a whole new type of artistic expression. Cash is, by trade, a tattoo artist. This is a WIP shot of his "Famine" sculpt for Menace Inc Studios' 7 Seals Blind Box Series, which will be released locally in one of my favorite states, North Carolina, on Thursday. Check the Facebook event here.

7 SEALS ARTIST ROSTER:

Alexis Rivera (Playful Gorilla) - Seal #1 The Conqueror First Horseman
Chris Moore (WeBecomeMonsters) - Seal #2 War Second Horseman
Cash Cannon - Seal #3 Famine Third Horseman
Jeff Beck - Seal #4 Death Fourth Horseman
Ricardo Luna (lunacyfx) - Seal #5 Mark of the Beast
Motorbot - Seal #6 Destruction
HX - Seal #7 The Seven Angels
Tru:Tek - "Golden Seal" Resin Piece

WHAT ARE THE 7 SEALS?

The 7 Seals are based on the biblical 7 Seals of the Apocalypse. Each of the 7 Seals being broken to usher in that level of the Apocalypse.

1st Seal - Antichrist / The Conqueror(The First of the Four Horsemen)

2nd Seal - War(The Second of the 4 Horsemen)
3rd Seal - Famine(The Third of Four Horsemen)
4th Seal - Death(The Fourth and Final Horsemen)
5th Seal - The Mark of the Beast
6th Seal - Total Global Destruction
7th Seal - The Seven Angels

Each Seal theme was given to one of these awesome resin artists for them to come up with an original sculpt of what that seal meant to them. They will each cast 7 standard versions of their design as well as 1 Chase Variant of their design.

Seal #4: Death Resin Figure by Menace Inc Studios

by
This is the first full reveal picture for the Death figure by Menace Inc Studios. Made for the 7 Seals Resin Blind Box Series, Death is about 4" tall with his scythe. The figure was cast in resin with an iron coating. Jeff used a special technique to rapidly rust the iron and then seal it to stop the rusting process and fix the look of the piece.

Pictured is the regular version- 1 of 7 made. There is also one chase variant that will be kept a surprise.

Another special one-off version will be part of the big giveaway at midnight. Several of the artists involved in the 7 Seals event will make one-off figures to give away at that magical hour of midnight at the event.

More details can be found at the Facebook event page for the 7 Seals Release Party. The party will take place at the Geeksboro Coffeehouse Cinema in Greensboro, NC.

7 SEALS ARTIST ROSTER:

Alexis Rivera (Playful Gorilla) - Seal #1 The Conqueror / First Horseman
Chris Moore (WeBecomeMonsters) - Seal #2 War / Second Horseman
Cash Cannon - Seal #3 Famine / Third Horseman
Jeff Beck - Seal #4 Death / Fourth Horseman
Ricardo Luna (lunacyfx) - Seal #5 Mark of the Beast

Resin care package from We Become Monsters!

by
We were pleasantly surprised last week to receive this awesome package from Chris Moore: artist, toy maker and sponsor of this blog! Chris Moore runs We Become Monsters and his flagship character is Skelechub, a portly little beast with a sunken, skull-like face. You can see and buy a huge variety of Skelechubs here in the We Become Monsters store.

In an effort to allow greater collectability of his Skelechub figures, Chris has developed a Mini version of the Skelechub sculpt. The Mini Skelechub is about one thrid the size of the regular Skelechub. Unpainted Minis will cost $9 or $10 when Chris starts rolling them out.
Also in the package was a bagged and tagged severed version of the regular Skelechub's head- a nice touch that Chris poured this one in a Tenacious Blue tint! The detail work is excellent, the blue is beautiful. Chris isn't sure yet whether he'll do a run of the Severed Heads, but in my opinion, he should. Great sculpt. For now, I have the only one! I guess Chris was cleaning out the Skelechub mold when he poured in the resin, and the head that popped out looked great so he bagged & tagged it and sent it off to me!
Personalized note on the Severed Head header tag.

Finally in our We Become Monsters package, we got one of Chris' Slabs:
The SLABs are bascially waste resin. Every time I mix a batch and pour a mold, there is a little left over, a centimeter in the bottom of a cup, an inch, whatever. This was being thrown away. So I looked around for something I'd made that I could make a simple open mold of and at least use the resin for something. I ended up choosing a wood carving that is a few years old. They are around 4x6 and flat, so the entire back of the mold is open and I just pour any extra resin in. Eventually, it is full, and I pop it out and throw it on the slab pile, and go back to casting.
This means random color/material combos - yours is only almost uniform blue because I started the first layer with the same resin I used on that mini skelechub, and I was trying to get Tenacious Toys blue going there. Since it is all essentially repurposed waste, and many of them will be hideous colors, I decided to make them all freebies. People who like www.facebook.com/webecomemonsters, or buy from the shop, are in the pool of people who will be selected from, randomly, every so often (as often as I can afford) to get one in the mail. People who buy and like the page essential get two chances.
Hilariously, Chris has included some ridiculous warning labels and cautionary statements on the back of the Slab packaging. Good thing he told me, too, because I was just about to run around the apartment holding my Slab and howling at the moon.

So there ya have it- more awesome resin for my collection. Go visit We Become Monsters to see more, and be sure to Like their Facebook page and buy something from their store to be eligible to get your free Slab!
