The Black Abyss in Death's Eyes custom Dunny by Jon-Paul Kaiser

by

"The Black Abyss in Death's Eyes" by Jon-Paul Kaiser, photography by Justin Allfree
UK based artist Jon-Paul Kaiser recently completed an amazing 3" Dunny Commission titled "The Black Abyss in Death's Eyes". Jon-Paul Kaiser has been somewhat of a machine in the past year, since becoming a full time artist. Many collectors around the world are lining up to get on Jon-Paul's commission list. His latest creation is a detailed spectre of death, which was created using one of Andrew Bell's Dunny designs, from Kidrobot's Mardivale series, as a base. Jon-Paul Kaiser transformed the originally colorful Dunny into another monochromatic masterpiece for some lucky collector.

As with most of Jon-Paul Kaiser's work, the completed Dunny was photographed by Justin Allfree. To hopefully get on Jon-Paul Kaiser's commission list, be sure to visit his site and shoot him an email with a request. Can't wait to see what other beauties are in store for the masses, direct from Jon-Paul Kaiser's workbench.

JonPaul Kaiser show at Yoyamart on Oct 11

by
Our friend JonPaul Kaiser is going to leap across the pond in October and run wild in the streets of Manhattan. Be warned. October 11, Toy2R has foolishly invited JPK to invade Yoyamart, a fashion and style trendsetting boutique on Gansevoort Street, where he will not doubt blow every single mind that walks through the door. Literally.

No, sorry, I meant figuratively. JPK is a giant, amazingly sweet man who I am very proud to call a friend. His talents really need no introduction. He understands form and composition, and his steady hands have brought to life some of the most brilliant custom toys that ever sold in 3.5 milliseconds at our NYCC booth. I'm stoked to meet up with JPK again. We can all expect to see beautiful Toy2R production toys, as well as custom toys, by JPK at this show.

Oct. 11th, by the way, is the opening day/preview night of NYCC 2012, so any of you in town for the Con will be able to scoot easily over to Yoyamart, which is on the west side, reasonably close to the Javits Center. See y'all there.

SNEAK PEEK: RunDMB x JPK x Ume Toys "Project X"

by
It's called "Project X" because it has no name... but look at this thing! With sculpting like that, who needs a name anyway? This sculpt is based on a sketch by RunDMB (David Bishop) and JonPaul Kaiser, and cast into resin by Rich Page of Ume Toys.

Here's what Rich had to say:
At the tail end of last yeat I had a conversation about a possible sculpt/resin toy based on a sketch from David Bishop (@rundmb) and Jon Paul Kaiser (@jonpaulkaiser).

I've sculpted him up - a few tweaks to come that will include articulation for his arms and head (which will also be reshaped a little) - I took him down to KidRobot London last week and everyone seemed to like him a lot. We are thinking of a small run for ourselves and selected friends to custom and hope to put a little show on for the launch - after that a ltd run of resin blanks should be up for grabs (no prices yet).

I can't wait for the new 5-inch Mini Qees!

5" Mini Qees - The Next Generation Of Fun!

The first 10 years were just the beginning. Welcome to the next generation in the evolution of Qee as the launch of the 5" Mini Qee DIY Series starts 2011 and the Year of Qee!

Seven of your favorite Qee characters come to life in this new and exciting scale including the MON and TOYER Versions, making it even easier to join the world of DIY and custom art figures. Today's sneak peek is of our iconic TOYER figure, now in 5" Mini Qee format. With articulated arms and head (easy to remove, making it easier for customizing) the Mini Qees are fun and full of possibilities!

Originally launched with last year's Pumpkie Mini Qee and Jon-Paul Kaiser's Samurai Pumpkin, collectors and fans will see new artists editions released throughout the year as well.

This release is just one of the many projects planned for 2011 as Toy2R celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the Qee brand. If you thought you knew Qees, think again, as Qee redefines the DIY platform genre once again in 2011, The Year of Qee.

Welcome to the Qeevolution...

Hang on, the ride is just beginning!

You can follow Toy2R Qees on Facebook, and DEFINITELY keep watching our blog as we are planning some special projects with these new Qees!
