Cookies N Cream x Argonaut Resins Argo Dunks figures

by

In a collaboration with Argonaut Resins based their Sneakerhead art toy, Cookies N Cream presents "The Argo Dunks". The Argo Dunks are a set of handmade resin Sneakerhead pieces crafted by our good friend and frequent collaborator - master sculptor Eric "Nocella" Diaz (END) of Argonaut Resins. The first set of 5 Argo Dunks are: The Strawberry Dunks, The Grape Dunks, The Green Apple Dunks, The Icy Mint dunks and a very special one - The Afghan Gold Dunks. These are all exclusive pieces and each come with the regular head of the figure as well as the DIY head. The Sneakerhead figure itself has not been released to the public at large so these Argo Dunks are some of the first pieces of the figure ever to be sold.
Each piece is $120 and also comes with a limited handmade custom Sneakerhead box.
The set will be available for sale via the CNC online shop this Friday - August 26th 2011.

NEMO's Super Phat Dunny Kid custom for Almighty Dunny

by
I think this is an appropriate post-blizzard post:
My friend Mike "NEMO" Mendez sent over images of the scratchbuilt 5-inch custom he made for The Almighty Dunny Show, curated by Zam and Ian of Genuine Artikle.
Really the only thing he used from the Dunny was the ears! He made a special point of telling us that.
The detail on this piece is incredible- the NYC-style light post next to the figure sports miniature versions of the Tenacious Dog sticker, NEMO's sticker, Genuine Artikle's Kreeper sticker, a Spanky Stokes sticker, a Wizard Sleeve sticker, a Sketchbot sticker, a Cookies N Cream sticker and many more! I don't know how he did it, but this piece is a wonderful homage to the little gang of shops, artists and blogs that we run in.
This is truly how NYC looks right now, right down to the yellow snow!
You can follow NEMO on his blog or on Facebook, and you can peruse the many NEMO customs we've sold on our website in NEMO's own section here. You can see the rest of the customs from The Almighty Dunny Show on Genuine Artikle's website.

Kings of Atlantis: Wealth King resin by END of Argonaut Resins

by
If you've bought a resin sculpt in the past decade, chances are you own a resin piece by Eric Nocella Diaz (END) of Argonaut Resins. END's been pouring resin for himself and for companies large and small for longer than I've been in the toy business. His latest collaboration with style-mongers Cookies-N-Cream is this skull sculpt for a project they're calling the Kings of Atlantis. There will be 5 different versions: Wealth, War, Peace, Wisdom & Sky Kings. Above pictured is the first piece: the Wealth King. Each resin sculpt comes with a matching talisman magnet, a certificate of authenticity and handmade custom packaging which END makes himself.
To follow this project, and to see images of the upcoming 4 other Kings, go to Cookies-N-Cream's blog. To purchase, go directly to their web store.

ToyStreet: the first annual ToyStreet Designer Toy event in NYC

by
We both had a great time at Cookies N Cream's ToyStreet this past weekend! There were bands playing, lots of shops and manufacturers had set up booths and we got to hang out with a buncha toy peoples! Good times!
If you missed out on ToyStreet, here are a few notable sneak peeks that we saw there:
Argonaut Resins showed for the first time their beautiful resin Tuttz sculpt (below) which they will be casting in a variety of colors. I think Tenacious Toys will be able to get a colorway all to ourselves. Sweet!
Below, Frankie Velez shows off Miguel Paredes' awesome PULGHA sculpt.
Look for this toy coming soon.
We got a sneak preview of the upcoming artist card series called The Art Hustle, which features art cards by and about some of the hottest names in underground art! Check their website for more info.
There are lots more pictures from ToyStreet on my Flickr page, so click thru to check them all out!
