Finding it's way to it's rightful owner recently is one of Jon-Paul Kaiser's latest commissioned pieces, this time using a Huck Gee Blank figure. Ronin Blank is a handpainted custom blank showing a steadfast samurai adhering to his life as a loyal servant. Complete with a steal Katana, Jon-Paul utilized his minimalistic color approach to bring life to this lonely Ronin. Wonderful photos were captured by photographer Justin Allfree. With this private commission delivered, it's only a matter of time until Jon-Paul's next creation makes an appearance. It will be interesting to see if JPK gets a crack at the Clear version of the Blank Skullhead. Be sure to follow Jon-Paul on social media sites to stay up to date with all of JPK's latest creations.
Opposites are everywhere. Light and dark, Black and white, Tall and Short, Sane and Republican party. Huck Gee released a beautiful crystal clear Skullhead Blank, which of course led to a pitted opposite creation, The Cement Skullhead Blank. Created using (most likely) actual cement(indeterminate ratio), The Cement Skullhead features pits and holes and for all intents and purposes, is the polar opposite of the clear Skullhead. Priced at $150 each, plus shipping, these filthy creations will go on sale April 4th, at 12pm PST. Limited to just 75 pieces, the lead time is around 6-8 weeks for shipping. Who knows, maybe a nicely colored cement custom creation will come calling quickly after collectors clean cut brown boxes open, revealing the splendor that is the Cement Skullhead Blank.
With ToyConUK 2016 right around the corner, artists are
making final preparations for the trip across the pond. Huck Gee is
making the trip back to his motherland and he is bringing along some
colorful Skullhead Blanks as ToyConUK exclusives. Orange, Blue and Pink are the color choices for ToyConUK, with Orange and Pink being made available at the actual convention. The Blue Skullhead Blank will only be available at the Toy Chronicle hosted ToyConUK 2016 After party, thus the blue hue. In addition to the colorful resin to add to dusty shelves, Huck will also be bringing a batch of new Skullhead Punk T-Shirts. Hand Colored prints, watches, banners, stickers and a few customs will also be available at ToyConUK. For those attending the convention, be sure to arrive early as many of the items Huck will be bringing will most likely sell out.
Huck Gee posted up more Skullhead Blanks v1.0 in his online store. All of the Designer Con 2015 leftovers are now available online, so everyone should hurry to be able to purchase a GID, Black, Red, and even a restocked white Skullhead Blank. Priced at $75 a piece, these guys shouldn't last long.
For over 4 years now, Huck Gee has been working on what he considers a better canvas for customizers. Huck also wanted the final product to not be produced overseas. With a lot of work and time, Huck has finally developed a product that he considers good to be released to the public. The Skullhead Blank is the first released figure in the Blank line of figures and is up for sale on Huck Gee's webstore right now. With a few smaller releases prior, the figure seems to have been well received. Priced at $75 a figure, The Skullhead Blank stands around 7-8", with a wider range of articulation than a typical DIY figure. There is no word on how many Huck has for sale in this current batch, but it's definitely a nice figure to pick up. It will be nice to see more customizers take a crack at The Skullhead Blank. He took his time in getting the feels right. It was designed, engineered and manufactured utilizing the talent that grows in his own backyard. To cut out the unnecessary complexity of manufacturing abroad and to focus on exceptional quality goods manufactured here in the USA.
