Michael Keaton Batman and Bruce Wayne Set by Hot Toys

 I'm not gonna lie to you, I am partial to the Christian Bale Batman movies. I like the stories and the villains and the action... the way Bale speaks as Batman irritates the shit out of me, but I can deal with it because that's not a whole lot of the movies.

But a close second is the 1989 Michael Keaton Batman. Jack Nicholson as Joker might be fucking perfect casting. Anyway, Hot Toys obviously agrees that the Keaton Batman is worth producing, because here we have a 1:6-scale, two figure set of Bruce Wayne in his tux, as well as the Batman. The likeness of the head sculpt is pretty dead-on in my opinion. This set is available for $344.99 here at Sideshow, and they even offer a payment plan.

 

 

Stars and Strips and all things Captain America

The Winter Soldier has just been released with great reviews, some even saying the best Marcel film to date!

There was no way that Hot Toys was not going to releasing the Stealth S.T.R.I.K.E. suit version, fans already was demanding this version long before it was announced, so I think many are happy that demands has been answered!

So Hot Toys is going all out with this Marvel Superhero steam train, some say a little too much, as many lines left unfinished and talked about non Marvel releases has yet to materialise.

Anyway.... what a set this is…. Captain America AND Steve Rogers, the Steve Rogers head sculpt is amazing

The Stealth S.T.R.I.K.E. suit version is available on its own, if your not wanting civilian Steve Rogers!

DamToys - Gangsters Kingdom - Juárez

I’ve been a fan of the DamToys Gangster Kingdom line from the very beginning, I first thought it was loosely based on British gangster flick actors, but past few releases steered away from that....

Most recent announcement from DamToys is this GK006 - The Gangsters Kingdom - Diamond 3 Juárez!!! 

Now I think you will know who the character is based on!!

This by far is the meanest looking release of the line, think a lot has to do with the bloody weapons!!

Almost all of the early releases have been sold out, besides the normal auction sites, you will be had pressed to find an early one at your local figure vendor.

With this release, DamToys have made an additioal 100 chase/hidden versions that will be randomly placed in with the regular, so if you strike lucky, below is what you will get - Good Luck.

Even as a stand alone piece this has got to be the one to have, so search out Juárez, before he finds you…….!

Hot Toys Marvel Winter Soldier round up.

In the space of a few weeks, Hot Toys Marvel steam train rolled in with 3 new preorders tied in with the worldwide release of Captain America The Winter Soldier.

Liking the weathering on the suit!

Fans will love this new version of Black widow!!

Head sculpt on this is fantastic

Now we will have to wait and see if Hot Toys will release the Stealth version on his suit, I guess very likely they will...

BUT no so sure about Falcon...

I've watched the film and I thoroughly enjoyed it, fans will for sure get all three and the preorders will sell very well.

Captain America: Golden Age version, Black Widow and The Winter Soldier are all available from your usual Hot Toys vendor, as for the others mentioned above, we shall see!

AX2 - INU AND SARU - YOJIMBO

Following on from the great success of the Boom! Series 2 Rei release comes, Yojimbo

I don't have the full back story of this release, but below is taken from AX2....

Yojimbo is my job. The members of Inu teased me, saying what I do is reminiscent of a watchdog that guards the entrance of Saru, but I pay them no heed. My life belongs to my mast'r. A grateful dog is no doubt far nobler than those crude, thankless goshi.

YOJIMBO means bodyguards, the job is usually taken by the more destitute rank of Samurai, such as the Ronin. Yet the attire of a Saru sergeant ought to be glamorous, so even a mere bodyguard's garments would appear more extravagant than that of usual corporals. The Saru people do not tolerate any dishevelment in clothing- a set of elegant, organized attire represents the frontage of the entire Saru clan.

Takeya is one of the best model artist, character creator in Japan, he’s a name I have known and admired since the days I started in this business back in the late 1990's!


It's awesome that along with last years Samurai Predator he is getting some recognition to a ‘New’ generation of collectors.

Just search Takayuki Takeya works such as Sitting Hell, Surgery Addict, Devilman, Kamen Rider to see his awesome work! (I need to dig mine out, build and display them!)

1000Toys...... Ready?

Not much is known about this new company in the 1/6 world (founded in early 2012), they have a Facebook page and only today just launched their official website - 1000Toys

It seems the company has 2 people at the helm, Design is Tsutomu Nihei and Production is Yuta Tobari, some may recognise the name Tsutomu Nihei - creator of awesome manga Blame! Ive also spoken with Yuta a few times and seems his plans for 1000Toys are game changing.

Why game changing?? Well please take a look at these 1/6 bodies that are not far from production and we can see that we are looking into the future of 1/6 articulated bodies.

I bet you the major players will want to take a close look at the engineering thats gone into this, just to a see how they accomplished the amazing articulation. 

As I mentioned, the official site is up an running but the sale of these bodies don't have a date yet, retail price is $120.00USD - they are as yet not offering these to dealers so the only way to get hold of one is through the official website.

I for one is looking forward to getting hold of a few!

ALSO - 1000Toys will be at the Clash of the Titans show I previously wrote about, so check them out this weekend.

CLASH OF THE TITANS 1:6 SHOW

We are all familiar with the usual suspects of the 1/6 world... SideShow, Hot Toys. Enterbay, Medicom etc etc...

But lurking underneath all that.... there is a vast world of 1/6 figure customisation and production, creations that you may not know what the subject matter is but what these artist produce is somewhat amazing, I myself have a few pieces from these artist and its always a talking point when people visit my office.

OK, Clash of the Titans - what is it?

Well the good people at 1:AM Gallery are putting on a show that I think brings the best of these artist from around the world, into one gallery....

Joel Emslie, Winson Ma, Kenny Wong, RC Works, 1000toys, Psycho Customs, Zuno, Ligh BLACK, K13 Toys, Brac, HiKiKoMoRi Studio, makadi 3000, AX2 Studio. I'm sure you may of heard of a few of them.

Shame I live so so far aways as this is a great opportunity to see so many talented artists work in one place,  BUT if you live close then I suggest you head over to 1:AM gallery tomorrow for the opening night, you won't be disappointed.

OneSixthBruce 1/6 figure of 2013..

Up until a few weeks ago, my figure of the year for 2013 would of been the iMINIme Wall Street Killer... Such an awesome custom 1/6 figure, we didn't sell that many but once it was released and people started seeing in hand images, we had emails asking to buy, unfortunately we sold out.

BUT with receiving the preorders from AX2 Studios of their first big production release of Boom! #2 Rei, I had to change my mind.... Sorry Denny!!

Its #2 as there was a previous release called Boom! Series No.1 Armor and Rei which I'm sure was released in ultra limited editions.

Back to Boom! #2, well the TNT truck arrived very early one morning in December and could not wait break down the pallet to see what the production was like from AX2.

First box I opened was going to be mine..... I got edition 77/250, I lifted out the foam cover and WOW... was met with such an awesome 'custom' figure, very anime looking hair, great paint application, with a hint of threeA TK in the style and execution, I was bowled over by it, not many figures I open first hand has given me such a wow factor.

Any way, its my opinion so you may disagree! so I'll let the images do the talking.....
