Conan the Barbarian Custom by Jon-Paul Kaiser

by
Jon-Paul Kaiser wasted no time customizing one of Kidrobot's Labbit the Barbarian figure. As a fan of Frank Frazetta's art, as well as the movie Conan The Barbarian, Jon-Paul saw the original figure and immediately decided that he had to leave his mark on this wonderful base. Jon-Paul was able to complete this custom in time for the event Northern Craft in Leeds on October 15th. For those in the UK, be sure to head on down to the Northern Monk Brewery, where the Northern Craft Fair will be featuring 30+ stalls of the finest art and crafts from around the world, which includes Jon-Paul Kaiser. This should be a great event, can't really go wrong with beer, food and art.

SNEAK PEEK: Munny / Labbit Death Dealer - Frank Frazetta x Frank Kozik x Kidrobot

by
Frank Frazetta's "Death Dealer" is possibly the most iconic and badass painting in the fantasy genre. Dating way back to 1973, it has achieved legendary status in the fantasy nerdling sphere... and now the Master of Labbits has endeavored to bring the iconic imagery to his Labbity world. Here you see a SNEAK PEEK of the Death Dealer Munny riding his Labbit steed. Soon to be revealed at the Kidrobot booth at Toy Fair in New York, this will ACTUALLY be a production piece from Kidrobot!

Follow their blog for more info on that release, I don't have details yet.

Labbit x Death Dealer crossover concept by Frank Kozik, brought to life in the capable digital hands of Klim Kozinevich and Bigshot Toyworks....  we have here a production piece so badass, even my wife wants one!

If you needed more convincing that Kidrobot is BACK in a big way, here it is. Mic drop....

Here's the original Frazetta painting:

All in Your Hands Custom Labbit by Jon-Paul Kaiser

by
One of Jon-Paul Kaiser's latest commissions comes from a private collector from mainland China. With the customer only requesting a "Hands" theme, the rest of the design was left up to Jon-Paul. This piece was a bit different from what Jon-Paul is used to creating, in that there are no landscapes or characters being created. The end result however, is a wonderful custom which also features a secret UV painting on the flanks of the labbit, which the customer will be able to see(and possibly share with the rest of the world). Photographs were taken by Justin Allfree, Jon-Paul Kasier's photographer for everything.

New Works from Carson Catlin Lolligag, Labbit and More

by

Carson Catlin has been cutting it up- the vinyl that is, and shares with us new pieces for upcoming shows. Carson contributes "Reticu-lloli", pictured above and below,  for Toy Art Gallery's Vive La Lolligag. Reticu-Lloli has an antiqued finish, making the darker shadowed areas of many smaller cuts stand out. Reticu-Lloli will be available through Toy Art Gallery for $200, inquire info@toyartgallery.com for purchase.

Carson also contributes "RWB" - red, white & black Munny to Menace Inc. Studio's Childish Playthings. Red, white & black is a colour palette Carson shows interest in continuing to explore, and with each colour having unique emotional or thematic connotations, I'm interested to see where Carson takes it.

Carson also shares with us a commissioned piece recently completed. "Cadela Metal" was completed over the course of 8-9 months, and incorporates copper wire.

For more of Carson's work, follow his Facebook and Instagram @carsoncatlin
