King Candy and Wreck it Ralph custom Vinylmation by Rask Opticon

Artist Rask Opticon creates some amazing figures and art. Rask Opticon's latest revealed completed commission is based on the movie Wreck It Ralph. Creating both morphed King Candy and Wreck It Ralph, Rask Opticon used a couple of Vinylmation figures to complete the duo. While Ralph is pretty much an amazingly painted Vinylmation figure, King Candy (more specifically the body) is pretty much entirely sculpted from scratch. The end result is an amazing pair of figures that should make a collector very happy.

Our friend Evilos has launched a Kickstarter to fund the production of his first original sculpt collectible! I've backed it, of course. Evilos is an undeniable talent and has been extremely supportive of Tenacious Toys. He's part of the crew. Let's get him to his goal, he's already well on his way!

 Hello, My Name is Christopher Avalos.

I've been a model maker and custom artist for well over 20 Years. In that time I've painted many different things. This year ive decided to make my own figure, I've had this idea for some time and through an amazing set of circumstances I'm ready to create my very first figure.


I've already gone and had the 3D sculpt professionally created, so we are half way there. But I still need your help. With your pledges I can hire a studio in the United States to produce the mold and the figures. So please check out all the rewards I have and their details here.

He is a character that I came up with a very long time ago when rainy weather would cause all sorts of delays. I don't have a traditional indoor studio like many other artists, my studio is outside and I rely on the great southern California weather to get my work done. Some days I cannot paint because of bad weather and that's what my Rainy Day character personifies. With your help and pledges, I can create a Do It Yourself White Resin figure that you can customize however you wish. He will come in five pieces for easy painting and is 4 inches tall. Just paint, put him back together and you will have a figure all your own.

Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story Premiering Now at Disney Hollywood Studios

 "In search of his lost soul mate, an unpainted Vinylmation finds himself on a quest that alters the destiny of his entire world. Blank is an epic adventure in miniature scale, a completely original, heartwarming love story filmed entirely in practical stop motion." 

"Blank - A Vinylmation Love Story," a 39-minute, stop-motion short film, will be shown at the Premiere Theatre in Disney's Hollywood Studios February 14-17.

Dope Vinyl presents Evilos painting rasta Vinylmations with Monster Kolor

My favorite writer may not agree, but in my opinion as a retailer, Monster Kolor paint is a selling point. Behold the beautiful Vinylmation figures by Evilos, painted in Monster Kolor paint. And check out the sweet short film below by Jordan of Dope Vinyl, who is currently traveling the world collecting footage of custom toy artists for his documentary (a project funded by Kickstarter). Friend of Tenacious Toys Christopher "Evilos" Avalos met up with another of our friends- filmmaker Jordan Ahern- to get some footage of the creation of some Evilos custom Vinylmation figures. The customs are now being offered as rewards on Jordan's Kickstarter to fund a FRIKKIN SWEET documentary Jordan is making about the vinyl toy community.
