Jeremy Tanavit Fan Reveals Prototype of New Pitohui 4-inch Figure

This is a prototype of Pitohui, it stands about 4" and has a width of 3". It also has a removable Cat skull mask. More details on production size and price will be release soon.

Background: Pitohui is JEM's companion. Although he may look tough and punk, pitohui is actually very sensitive and shy. Pitohui has dreams to be a crime fighter hence the CAT skull mask, but for now Pitohui enjoys the wonderful adventures with JEM.

Fun Fact:The hooded pitohui is a pitohui of New Guinea with black and orange plumage.  It is one of the few known poisonous birds.

Tree Huggers by Ume Toys x Tommy Human

Ume Toys, Rich Page, has been working with Tommy Human to create an adorable prototype called Tree Huggers.

Mini Panda King Prototypes from Aaron "Angry Woebots" Martin

3D Printers are getting more affordable and attainable as more companies try to produce a newer and user friendly version. Between MakerBots, FlashForge and PrintrBot to name a few, 3D printers are helping people prototype and make stuff all around the world. So, when one of the best resin production people, Silent Stage Gallery, teased that they had purchased a 3D printer, the stage was set for some future awesome. First up, of what will probably be many, is Angry Woebots' Mini Panda King 2 prototypes. Aaron "Angry Woebots" Martin teased some pictures recently of a few Mini Panda King 2 prototypes. The prototype minis are 3D printed and depending on cost efficiency, for production may either be all be 3D printed or molded and cast in resin. No word on if or when these mini bad boys will become available, but with Designer Con 2014 around the corner, it's highly likely that Woes will be packing the mini heat. This is not the first time 3D printers have allowed artists to shrink down a design and go to print, MAD Toy Design did this in the past when he released his 3D Printed Micro MADLs. All of the Micro MADLs were 3D printed and allowed MAD to produce whatever color he wanted, albeit within the parameters of available filament color. Other artists are also using 3D printing to prototype and build pieces that are eventually molded and cast in resin for production. Now, 3D printing is not for everyone, but still can be a wonderful tool for anyone.

Considering the limited printing envelope, only time will tell how 3D Printing will help Silent Stage and Angry Woebots prototype in the future. One thing is certain, this can definitely be a game changer. What are collectors hoping to see in the future from Woes and Silent Stage? Comment on this post and let everyone know.

Bigshot Toyworks Represented at NYCC 2014 Tenacious Collective Booth 208

All City Style blank 20-inch trains will be available for purchase at Booth 208

 This year we are representing Bigshot Toyworks at NYCC 2014 in the Tenacious Collective booth #208. There will be BSTW products for sale, plus prototypes of upcoming figures and some special reveals of projects that are underway.

We will be selling blank All City Style trains at our booth, as well as some of the remaining Miya-San figures designed by Martin Hsu.

In addition, we will be showing off the first factory samples of the finished Little Maddie figures in their packaging. Little Maddie will not be for sale at NYCC, but you might get a glimpse of the next Four Horsies figures slated for another Kickstarter...

We will also be displaying a few prototypes of the next couple of Bigshot Toyworks figures which are currently under development.... more about those will be revealed this week! A new release will drop soon at the Bigshot Toyshop.... wonder what they will drop as a second release, as a follow-up to the Mike Mignola Monkey with a Gun figure?

Mini Galaxxor and MEGAKESHI Galaxxor Release 11.19.13

Although things have been relatively quiet, as of late, in the Galaxxorverse, a good bit of stuff has been going on behind the scenes. Thanks mostly in part to my friends The Godbeast and the rest of the gang at True Cast Studio (which I recently had the chance to visit!), the next evolution of Galaxxor is in the works! The original sculpt has been greatly refined (courtesy of the mighty Josh Edwards), and there have been leaps and bounds made, in terms of producing the figures in a keshi-style rubber. As a result, I have a few 1/1 prototype Megakeshi 5.5″ Galaxxors (each with 3 interchangeable heads, including one by the mighty Matt Doughty!), as well as a large selection of 2″ Mini Galaxxors (sculpted and cast by none other than The Godbeast, himself!). Some of these pieces are suuuuper rare, and you’ll have your chance to score them for your very own on 11.19.13 at noon CST.
