DCon 2016 Booth #527 - Broke Piggy

by
It looks like the people over at Broke Piggy are going to try and make collectors go broke with all the customs they are teasing for Designer Con 2016. A special 8" Dunny Custom Exhibit, Toy Within a Toy, featuring works by The Bots, Scott Tolleson, Uamou and Jeremiah Ketner. If that wasn't enough, Broke Piggy also teamed up with artist MADL, for another custom exhibit, Bricked MADL. The Bricked MADL exhibit will feature Brick MADLs as a base and work by the following artists: MAD, Kano, Angry Woebots, Deph, Jesse Hernandez, Marka27, Scribe, and Sket One. If the exhibits weren't enough, Broke Piggy will have a limited amount of Pineapple Monsters by Black Seed Toys. Make sure to stop by the Broke Piggy Booth #527, as they hang out next to a booth featuring DrilOne, Leecifer and Scott Tolleson.

MIST Solo Show at Wall Works New York Opens Saturday June 6 in the Bronx

by
Worth posting: A gallery called Wall Works New York in the Bronx will be hosting French graffiti legend MIST in his first solo exhibition ever in New York! Opening reception is Saturday June 6 from 5-8pm. There will also be a limited-edition print available through the gallery, so it's highly recommended that you make your way to Wall Works, which is located at:
 39 Bruckner Blvd, Bronx, NY.

Why am I telling you about a gallery show? Because MIST has designed some of my favorite art toys. We even have a couple in the shop, available for purchase: his Lucius character (to the right), and the giant Holybrikus. Buy your own MIST toys here.

MIST's toy designs mimic his signature angular characters and shapes he applies to walls and canvases. You can even see echoes of the classic MIST toy shapes in the 2D piece above. Looking at the toys next to his graffiti and more abstract painterly piece, you can definitely pick out a signature style which is consistent throughout his work.
