Red Mutuca's Special Guest for Superish is... Chauskoskis

The final reveal for Red Mutuca's "Superish" Dunny mini series brings the special guest of the series, Chauskoskis, aka Walter Jacott. Walter created a wonderful character named "Super Weenie".

Wonderfully sculpted and painted, the real awe-inspiring note on this is — of course — that they are captured mid-flight; suspended in the air on a simple stand, one can easily forget that the black wire is there and pretend these vinyl beauties are flying around by their own secret power. While this might be the most immediately notable aspect, the character's name is "Super Weenie," able to attract lonely women with a single arrow! An arrow directing one's gaze towards the figure's… um… "package."

Walter did a great job of subtly modifying the Dunny form, to give the figures a sense of flight. With pointed feet and a bulging package, Super Weenie is ready to take on the single ladies of the world. I am still curious to what lies behind the mask, as it appears to be removable as seen in one of Walters teasers on Instagram.

Keep an eye out for more information surrounding the final release of the rest of the 40 blind boxes in the Superish series. Looks like they'll be going up for sale here.

Me Man by Tim "timselF" Munz

A new week means the next reveal for Red Mutuca's Superish Dunny Series. This week's custom design is by Tim "timselF" Munz, called "Me Man", a narcissistic pretty boy who flies around with a mirror.

Aside from Todd McFarlane's Spawn, super-heroes tend to be rather pretty boy types. In fact, if you told me that as Superman flew by some highly reflective skyscraper windows that he felt the need to stop and check out his baby blues & pearly whites then I'd totally believe you. And, trust me, this has everything to do with Tim "timselF" Munz's "Me-Man." And, let's face it, if we were as stunningly perfectly painted as Me-Man is, we'd be checking ourselves out in our tiny wee hand-made mirror accessories too! Sporting a real cloth cape, there's something about this figure's brilliantly made nose that I just can't stop staring at. If you're hoping to pull one of these narcissistic beauties for yourself, then good luck…  there will only be 3 of them in the series.

I'm really digging the concept and design of Tim's Dunnys. It's too bad that there are only 3. The limited number should make this design highly sought after. The Superish series by Red Mutuca has a small batch of blind boxes that will go on sale once all the Dunnys are complete and ready to ship. Hopefully that will be in the next month or so. All the artists involved are creating some great pieces.

Mizzzter REM for Superish by Igor Ventura

Over the last few weeks, the folks at Red Mutuca Studios have been revealing artist creations for their first 3" Dunny Mini Series called "Superish". The latest reveal is "Mizzzter REM" by Igor Ventura.

Description of Mizzzter REM from Red Mutuca:

During the day, he's an average Joe; a hard worker, but he has no girls, no friends and no fun. But then, when the night falls and he is under his sheets, a strange and unexplainable force takes over: his ordinary life is suddenly extraordinary!
Running through the streets, chasing bad guys, bringing justice to those in need! Mizzzter REM, accompanied by his faithful sidekick Leaping Flock, owns the night!
Too bad he can't remember his own adventures when he reads about them in the news…

 

The lines are clean on the pajamas of this little Superish hero and he even comes with a faithful little sheep sidekick(all handmade from scratch, 1 at a time). The nighttime face mask and cape are great accessories and really do this character justice. This series is shaping up to be epic.

Red Mutuca have been releasing a new design every week for the last few weeks, building up to the last release of available blind boxes. A huge amount of the series is already sold out, though previous presales. The remaining 40 blind boxes are going to be highly sought after and probably sell out quickly after being available. Grimsheep's Custom Fonzo for Fonzo Love NY at MPH

Red Mutuca Canada based artist Owen "Grimsheep" Dewitt's custom Fonzo is another awesome addition to My Plastic Heart and Freakstore's Fonzo Love NY show. Clean lines and great contrast of colors make this Fonzo very cool. I'm really digging the belt and a colorful Japanese style gi.This is a great representation of Grimsheep's style. The Fonzo Love NY show is shaping up to be filled with a bunch of great pieces from very talented artists.

Opening reception for Fonzo Love NY is Friday January 11th,from 6-9PM at My Plastic Heart. The show is going to run until February 3rd.

The Black by Sergio Mancini

Sergio Mancini just keeps on producing, like his own mini factory! Sergio Mancini decided that he was not content with a single custom 8" Dunny based off his outsmART Originals T-Shirt, "The Black". He liked the design so much that Sergio is going to create a limited number of custom 3" Dunnys based off the same design. No word on edition size, other than it being limited, as stated on the Storenvy product page. Priced at $100 plus shipping, the pre-order goes up shortly, at 11AM EST on January 5th. Sergio is also making several other colorways available, in addition to the original blue design, he has added red, green, silver and gold.

Red Mutuca members Sergio Mancini and Igor Ventura recently created a duo of amazing custom Chuckboy Dunnys for a private collector.

Chuck couldn't take it anymore! Just because he was Mommy's boy, all the bullys at school gave him a beating everyday! What could he do? He had no friends other than books, and alone he couldn't stand a chance... Well, maybe if he had a special suit, he could scare off those suckers! His enemies were no match to his brains and some old bottles of kids shampoo! Chuck is now Vintagebot and all the bullys can kiss his plastic ass!

I'm really digging the execution on both of these customs. I especially like the Vintagebot color scheme. These are going to make great additions to what I believe is an ever growing collection of custom chuckboy dunnys, by the private collector who commissioned these.

Having purchased several different brands of limited edition T-shirts myself, the $25 price tag is pretty good. The current and previous designs have been outstanding representations of each individual artist. I personally don't like the quality of American Apparel shirts, however, the great designs make each outsmART Originals T-shirt worth getting. Keep in mind that each design is released for a limited amount of time and/or quantity, so pick up one while you can or regret that decision later.
