Available previously only in Limited Edition Urethane, late last year they made the jump to more affordable PVC.
Currently 5 colors are available on their website for an affordable $9.00 per pack (Glow in the Dark pictured below is $10). They also have a Black retail exclusive at Jay's CD and Hobby (www.jayscdandhobby.com).
Mystical Warriors of the Ring will be touring the USA in 2014 with the first stops being Kansas City's Planet Comicon in March and Chicago's mega convention C2E2 in April. There will be an exclusive colorway at each show (colorways not yet announced).
Mystical Warriors of the Ring figures are supported by a line of comic books, and there have been discussions of future animation and video games. So if you like Wrestling and if you like mini figures, this line is right up your alley.

If you weren't able to attend SDCC this year and have been crying into your Puke Knight plush (is that a thing? Somebody make that a thing) ever since missing out on those sweet yellow and blue Baby Deadbeets and OMFG series 2 figures then dry your eyes you sad little person! October Toys announces that they'll be releasing those sets on their site tomorrow at Noon PST. Just like every other OT release you can expect these to sell out quick so get your mouse calibrated and your internets all lubed up or whatever you do to make them go fast.
Along with that joyous news, October Toys also announced a rebranding of their figure line to OTMFG and you can expect some new figures coming soon. They even have a swanky new logo by Turbopistola.

What is OMFG?
Good question! OMFG stands for "Outlandish Mini Figure Guys" and they harken back to the MUSCLE figures we played with as kids growing up in the 80s. OMFG is and always had been a community-driven project. Helmed by George and Ayleen of October Toys, the figures in both OMFG series were designed by various artists from all over the globe. October Toys held an open call submission process on their forum, yielding hundreds of character submissions that were compiled and voted upon by the toy collecting community. In each series, 5 winners were chosen and put into production.
Of course, production costs money, so October Toys turned to Kickstarter to fund these series of toys. A few select retailers- smart enough to know a good thing when we see it- jumped on board with each series to request and pay for their own exclusive colorways of OMFG figures. For Series 2, we opted for White, as we have a lot of artist customers who'd probably be interested in picking up a few sets to paint. If sales from our Series 2 White figures go well, we will reinvest in October Toys by purchasing a White Exclusive run of Series 1. For now, you can go to our shop and order Series 1 sets in Flesh or GID.
The figures in OMFG Series 2 are as follows:
1. Puke Knight designed and sculpted by Jared DeCosta (aka redjarojam) from Massachusetts
2. Grimm Gourd concept by ScruffyNerfHrdr from Kansas, designed by Charles Marsh (aka Monsterforge) from South Carolina, and sculpted by Mike Fleming Jr (aka M-Flem-Jr) from Colorado
3. Shirtle designed by Kenjitron from Hawaii and sculpted by George Gaspar from Los Angeles
4. Cuddlehard designed and sculpted by turboPISTOLA from Tennessee
5. Cry-Borg designed by Andrew Scribner (aka RuFuS) from Rhode Island

Series 1 was hella popular; Series 2 promises to be just as popular. We opted for an exclusive colorway of the Series 2 figures, choosing white so that our customizing customers can pick up a set from us and get customizing! We'll be getting 200 sets of white OMFG Series 2 at the end of the year.
October Toys is not slowing down, however, while Series 2 is in production... the toy collecting community (that means YOU!) is now voting on the 5 figures to be included in Series 3!
Click here to see all 144 entries put in by artists, and click here to sign into the October Toys Forum and cast your vote! Voting is open until September 29th. I just voted!

| What's that familiar shape? Roll on deodorant. For reals. |
Dan got started doing f/x painting then moved on to painting toy prototypes freelance in 1999. There are a bunch of great examples of production toys on his site. A few of his customs are pictured below BUT before we get to the customs (and before I start getting hate mail), I want to address something.
Some people might object to my statement above about "Johnny-Come-Latelys trying to ride the wave and one trick amateurs" but I stand by it. Every artistic field has these, there is nothing unique about custom toys in that respect. I'm not calling anyone out and I have no interest in "naming names" so don't bother asking. (However, if you read that sentence and got bent out of shape, maybe that is a sign that you know you need to step up your game.)
So, what does that mean for the rest of us? Let me be clear here: my point in contrasting those people with someone like Dan (and there are plenty of others) isn't meant to be derogatory. It is meant to be inspirational. Talented, hard working people in any field help show us what is possible and provide inspiration for what might be next or even the next next thing. My view is that we should all be constantly improving our techniques through practice and helping each other by providing honest feedback and suggestions. And this goes double for Johnny-Come-Latelys and amateurs. Welcome to this big messy world, now get to work!

Many of the artists involved used the added recognition to help launch new products and designs based on their contributions to the OMFG! series. One such artist is Kyle Thye, whose "Phantom Shithouse" figure made it into the series. (Now, OK, we commonly call it the Phantom Outhouse to be nice-nice on teh internetz, but it will always be the Shithouse to me.) You can purchase the Outhouse t-shirt, designed by Kyle Thye, from Paste Apparel here. Sweet shirt for $25.
