Niall Anderson and Rich Page Form Submission Toy to Produce Keshi and Sofubi

We've formed Submission Toy to collaborate on a number of sofubi and keshi-related projects (starting with the Smogball, which debuted at DCon back in November), including our own original works as well as painted runs and customs in collaboration with other artists in the scene.

• “GID” Smogball- Submission Toy’s debut sofubi in a glow vinyl. Limited to 10 priced at $65 each

• Bukimi Ball one-offs- Bukimi Blasters‘ Bukimi Balls get the Tru:Tek treatment for this mini release. Features 3 one-off customs – Zonbi, Garamoan and Stink Eye – each coming with layers of sprays and brushed detailing for $110 a piece
• Submission Toy one-offs- The pair have been busy on a number of one-offs, including a Skinner “Ogos”, Violence Toy “Mutant Cop”, PLT Blood Maijin and Ultra Bastard, plus a Red Hot Style “Kilin” amongst others
• “Haunted Mansion” Argomedus and the Whisper- Submission Toy take on Scott Tolleson‘s sofubi duo, this time treating them to an acrylic paint app inspired by Disney’s Haunted Mansion. Limited to 3 sets priced at just $70 each
• Warui Zonbi one-offs- Submission Toy’s Rich Page has got to work on 2 Warui Zonbi sets, aptly titled “Stone” and “Bone”. The "Octoozeball" custom

The “Octoozeball” is a one of a kind custom mash-up of the vinyl Tru:Tek Oozeball and the Plaseebo resin Octo-base. The 5.5 inch long figure has a switched color-changing LED unit with replaceable batteries mounted in the base that illuminates the Oozeball from within, creating a molten lava effect. Hand painted with Monster Kolor sprays and signed.

SD Fake Baron Keshi by Tru:Tek x Awesome Toys

After months of development, the latest from Awesome Toy and Tru:Tek is finally being released for purchase. Awesome Toy has an ongoing Artist Collection series, with the latest being called the "Super Deformed" Fake Baron Keshi, from Tru:Tek and Disart ToyLabs. Designed by Tru:Tek, SD Fake Baron fits in the standard vintage SD super bot keshi, 3D sculpted by Brownoize to be just under 1" tall. With 2 initial buying options, a 3-pack with the classic red, yellow and blue figures, as well as a singular version in red (fitted to be a pencil topper). Priced at $15 for the 3 pack and $7 for the singular pencil topper, these keshi-style little rubber guys are available now through Toy Underground Store. Be sure to be on the lookout for more information regarding an exclusive figure from Disart ToyLabs, coming in the near future.

Warui Zonbi Series 1 by Gory Hole x Tru:Tek

Coming this week is Gory Hole's first painted run of "Warui Zonbi: Series 1" figures. Insprired by Maba's 1980's toyline called "Zombies", these finger puppet style figures feature 2 designs: SS Wolfgang and Selwyn. Selwyn is inspired by a zombie baby from Dead Alive, while SS Wolfgang takes it's inspiration from American Werewolf in London. Designed by Tru:Tek, with art by John Santagada of Radioactive Uppercut,, the pair of figures were sculpted by Makino-San of TTToy. Sized at around 3", with a split torso and capped bottom design, the first release of these soft vinyl figures will be in a flesh tone. There will also be an "OG" painted version from Tru:Tek to accompany the flesh toned release. The figures come dual-packed in a deluxe display box, matching the gacha-style purple keshi, previously released. Limted to just 10 sets of each version, the SoftToy Hobby/Gory Hole online store will have these available on Friday, March 18th at 9PM London Time (5PM Eastern). Priced at $85 for the OG painted version and $60 for the flesh toned, there will also be some surprises that may pop up in the store to go with the release. SPECTRAL GLOW DESPAIRS FOR HALLOWEEN! x Tru:Tek,

For this Halloween release, Tru:Tek cooked up a candy corn inspired orange/yellow/white cast of our Despair figure. The glow in the dark tops on these figures look incredible and absolutely ghastly. Additionally, Josh Trumbo provided us with a special Halloween header card for this release.

You can find all of the gory details here.  Despair was designed by Terence Brown II, sculpted by October Toys, and cast by Tru:Tek. This project was made possible by Dan Schlissel and his awesome label, Stand Up! Records!

Sunobite Vinyl Mini and T-shirt release from Tru:Tek x Sexual Youkai x Unbox Industries

Tru:Tek will be releasing their very own figure in the Strange Monsters mini-figure line created by Unbox Industries, the Sunobite. Representing the fourth release in the line created by Unbox Industries, Sunobite is a nightmarish mash-up of rikishi(sumo) and the Chatterer, Hellraiser's most fearsome cenobite. Measuring at 2.5" all the way around, Unbox produced the Sunobite in a unique deep green, rubber-like soft vinyl, for the first release. Priced at $15 each plus shipping, each Sunobite comes bagged with a header card and sticker. In addition to the cool mini-figure, Tru:Tek will be offering a companion T-shirt for pre-order, designed by Sexual Youkai. Priced at $22 by itself, a package deal will also be available which will include the shirt, matching mini print and the Sunobite figure for $35. The mini-print is limited to just 20 prints, so that will likely be the limit on the available set packages. The T-Shirt and figure will be hitting the Man-E-Toys online store on Thursday September 24th, at 7pm EST. Keep in mind, that the T-Shirt is available for pre-order only until October 8th. The Disarticulators' Oozeball Sofubi at ToyCon UK 2015

The Disarticulators' Tru:Tek is proud to reveal that he'll be guesting at the Toy Shack's ToyCon UK '15 booth this weekend, bringing along a whole slew of different Oozeball sofubi to the table! Manning the booth between 11.30am - 1pm this Saturday, April 25th, here's a quick rundown of what you can expect from the artist-come-toy blogger...

First off, the Rampage Toys one-off customs (top row in image above). The Disarticulators have joined forces with Rampage Toys' Jon Malmstedt for a trifecta of one-off customs! Produced in a non-squishy flesh-toned soft vinyl this time around – sadly sans squeaker – the Tru:Tek-designed, Zectron-sculpted balls have been treated to layers of unique sprays, rubs and brushwork. Rather aptly titled (from left to right) “Red Planet”, “Funfetti Ooze” and “Golden Sludge”, the trio will set you back just £65 a piece. 

Next up is the ToyCon UK exclusive "Predatooze" (bottom right of above image). Produced in a squishy clear matt soft vinyl this time around, the vintage-style “squeaky toy” has been filled to the brim with custom tie-dyed pom poms to resemble the infamous thermal imaging effect from cult 80’s flick, Predator. Limited to an edition of just 8 - including a "Deep Heat" chase - alongside just 2 variants in a "Stealth" colorway (without pom poms), the "Predatooze" Oozeballs come packed with a deluxe double sided header for £35 and £32.50 respectively.

Joining both Predatooze and the Rampage one-offs, Tru:Tek will also be bringing along a super-limited batch of Oozeballs in both GID and flesh-toned non-squishy vinyl (bottom left of above image). Capped at just 2 of each and never to be repeated in this format (i.e. unpainted!), these come packed with custom header cards for just £30 each.

Any leftovers will be making their way to the Man-E-Toys store on Sunday, April 26th at 9pm London time...

Despair is coming from Adam Quesnell and Stand Up! Records

Adam Quesnell is a comedian on Stand Up! Records and also happens to be an avid toy collector. Being an avid toy collector, Adam couldn't just release an album and call it day. Instead, Adam and Stand Up! Records teamed up with illustrator Terence Brown II, October Toys and Tru:Tek to create a 3" rubber toy called "DESPAIR".

Despair is a demon from the 10th Circle of Hell; the level where people who make bad cinematic adaptations of classic toy properties are flayed for eternity. Not your average demon, Despair suffers from severe anxiety disorder and crippling depression.

Satan himself banished Despair from Hell for being a major bummer.

Cast out upon the earth in a fiery geyser of lava and tears, Despair landed in the parking lot of a comedy club that was hosting a weekly open mic night.  Despair put his name on the sign-up sheet, got on stage, and told his story. Since then, he has been punishing himself, night after night, on comedy stages of varying quality throughout the Midwest. He dances and lashes himself for audiences with hopes of selling t-shirts and CDs to drunk people who will not wear or listen to them.

Despair will release on Halloween 2014 and will coincide with the release of Adam's album "Can We Afford This Much Despair?". The initial Despair figure release will be the flesh colored rubber, with more colorways to follow(check out Adam's website for a sneak peak). Each figure will come with a code to digitally download Adam's album. Stay tuned for more info, as pricing and availability has yet to be released.

The Disarticulators’ Oozeball Revealed in Full!

It’s been a couple of months since the debut of The Disarticulators‘ Oozeball at Superfestival 63, so it comes with great pleasure today to reveal that the general release will finally be happening this Friday!  

Designed/sculpted by Zectron and produced in a super-bouncy urethane rubber by Tru:Tek, the hugely popular Madball/Ooze-It send up will be touching down in ’open run’ editions of both “Bootleg Neon” and “OG” vintage green for $25 each, a batch of 10 in “Midnight” black again priced at $25, plus a super-limited run of custom hand rubs - available either on their own at $30, or as a set with the Deathball for $80… but that’s not all! 

There will also be a number of unique versions, including one-off, never to be repeated colourways and custom vintage-style hand sprays.

These are heading to the Man-E-Toys store this Friday, November 22nd at 9:00pm London time - be sure to get there early to avoid disappointment!

NOTE: Until the kinks are worked out with the fully playable Oozeball (softer rubber, complete with OOZE!), these will remain in the same harder “display only” rubber used in previous releases.
