True and the Rainbow King by FriendsWithYou coming to NETFLIX in early 2017

by
Art Collective FriendsWithYou will have their imaginative world created into an animated series, that is expected to debut on NETFLIX in early 2017. Created with i am OTHER(Pharrell Williams' creative venture, Home Plate Entertainment, and GURU Studios, True and The Rainbow King has been picked up for two seasons by NETFLIX. This show is one of three original content shows that was picked up by NETFLIX,which will target Pre-Schoolers. From FriendsWithYou:
From the beginning of our practice, we wanted to affect as many people as possible with the idea of an idealistic future - a vision of a future that's good for the future of our world. We show a world where the planet itself is a character and exemplifies a compassionate world, and make that into something that reaches as many people as possible, especially kids, so we are thrilled to be able to do this through a platform that briges television & the internet. This show is based on our past works Rainbow City and Wish Come True, and incorporates many of our Wish Come True characters. Thank you for all the support and love.
With online streaming becoming more and more of a viable option for ventures to take a chance, there is a good chance for True and Rainbow King to become a success and open the door for other artists' worlds to get transformed into a show. Be sure to check out more info in the FriendsWithYou website.

Little Buddy by Friends With You

by
Case Studyo has the pleasure to announce the release of a new limited edition sculpture by Friends With You, the fine art collaborative of Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III.

This new object is called ‘Little Buddy’, a guardian and magical dreamer bursting with ideas and inspiration. Sam & Tury suggest you put him close to your bed for the ultimate subconcious adventures. They offer this amulet as a power object, if you take care of it and watch over him, he will reflect your gestures and offer peace and love. The more energy you give him, the more he will charge your life with magic potency.

FriendsWithYou’s mission is to affect world culture by cultivating special moments of spiritual awareness and powerful, joyous interaction. Many of their works reference to toys because they are meant for play, a tool for unstructured free association and interaction. Their sculptures and paintings, inflatables and objects are meant to trigger the buried, neglected urges and yearnings that a seasoned art viewer may not expect to have activated; playfulness, laughter and inquisitiveness, with an end result of feeling connected. Influenced by the simple happiness found in everyday life, FriendsWithYou’s work is designed to be accessible to all.

This shiny gold glazed porcelain object (16x16 cm / 6.2x6.2 inch) is made in an edition of 25 pieces and comes in a silkscreened wooden box, with a signed and numbered certificate by FriendsWithYou.

Case Studyo apparently has no online shop, so you have to use their contact form to contact them if you want to buy one of these.

FriendsWithYou Rainbow City coming to NYC

by
FriendsWithYou is a design studio working in a variety of industries: they have designed some cool toys, like the kid-safe Wish Come True series of mini figures. They also put up these crazy 40-piece inflatable installations, and I was very excited to read in their newsletter that they are coming to NYC some time this summer! This is an event sponsored by AOL (yeah, that surprised me too- does anyone under the age of 60 use America Online anymore?) and further details are forthcoming. Namely, date and location. I'll post that info here as soon as I get it.

Mr. TTT, part of the Wish Come True mini figure series by FriendsWithYou

Customer and fellow blogger Lynette Chiang kindly references our humble little toy shop in her latest post on the Fast Company website. Interestingly, my dad got me a subscription to Fast Company several years ago when we started Tenacious Toys. Now we're IN Fast Company and Dad is very proud!

Somewhere City plushes, Wish Come True blind boxes

by
In stock now are a few kid-safe products from Strangeco:
The Wish Come True blind-boxed mini figures are designed by FriendsWithYou.
They are under $8 apiece and vary in height, but they're all around 3" tall. They have weighted bottoms and jingly bells inside, making them a real tactile, sensual set of toys! Best part is they're safe for kids 18 months and up.

The 8" tall Somewhere City plushes were designed by artist Goran Lelas for a collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art. They are made from soft terrycloth and they are suitable for all ages. A great gift for hip tots!
And despite the SRP of around $20, we got a deal on these because we bought in bulk direct from the manufacturer, so we are offering them at $7.95 each! On top is Memo Wee, and below is Oink Le Rouge. Find out more about them by clicking through to our website.
