A new style of custom Dunny from Gangtoyz

by

A new style of customs from Gangtoyz. Normally this guy (Cpassek) is making extremely detailed drawings with posca's on several platforms, but Gangtoyz is now trying something new again. Have to say that this works well. These metal looking alien warriors are ready for an invasion!

Kual Ark, 3 inch Dunny

Mornn Hunter, 3 inch Dunny

Skyrim Super Deformed Vinyl

by

Tuscon, AZ based Symbiote Studios has secured the rights to produce vinyl toys using Bethesda Softworks intellectual property including The Elder Scrolls, Dishonored, DOOM, Fallout and QUAKE.  Their first wide release against this license (beside a special edition figure for QuakeCon 2012) is a 3" super deformed (SD) Dawnguard from the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim!

This vinyl figure is articulated at the head and arms and has a removable helmet and multiple weapon options (pics below).  Currently in pre-order for USD $9.99, they should begin shipping some time in August.

In my head, this will play like a small version of the Mighty Muggs Mola Ram and I am totally ok with that.  Time will tell as Symbiote has not released pictures of the production piece despite how near we are to the ship date but I remain optimistic.

BLOW ME: 8-Bit Tribute Custom Show by Urban Vinyl Daily

by

Urban Vinyl Daily has announced the lineup for their upcoming online-only custom show "BLOW ME: A Tribute to Cartridge Gaming" with a great poster by Nate Mitchell of Squid Kids Ink.  The show will run from the first weekend in September for an entire month.  All pieces will be available at the UVD webstore: http://urbanvinyldaily.storeenvy.com/

I expect to see plenty of Ten-Doh's and Marios, which is totally cool, but with a roster that includes Matucha, NervisWr3k, and JC Rivera, my hopes are high that there will be some crazy, out-of-the-box pieces.  I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for WIPs!

Update:  Luihz Unreal has been added to the show as well, but didn't make it onto the draft of the poster that we received.

Shadoe Delgado's Shadow-lings (semi-NSFW for art weiners)

by

Shadoe Delgado is a San Francisco based artist, working on an ongoing series of work called "The Shadow-lings".  His Shadow customs are based on fine art pieces which incorporate Ego, Personae, Masks, and Shadows as subject matter. The toys tend to be a little more light hearted and more colorful compared to the artist's ceramic pieces. [ed. note - Do yourself a favor and cruise through the ceramics section, there's some really intense work there!]

Pictured is the 4"  "Miniboss" (5th in the Shadow-ling series).  Unfortunately he has already sold, but you can find his companions at Delgado's shop - http://stuffandwhatnot.bigcartel.com/

From the artist:
With this piece I had a lot of fun playing around with the antlers and building up washes on the mask. I also introduced a new medium(crackle paste) and I'm really diggin' the way it looks and plan on incorporating it into future pieces. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the the piece.

1XRUN print by Ian Ziobrowksi drops on Aug 22

by
21 x 16 Inches on Archival Pigment Print on 330gsm Fine Art Paper
Dropping on the 1XRUN site here on August 22nd is this 21 x 16 inch Nuggs print, limited to 25 prints in the run. You can also buy the original!

I created this painting while working on a custom vinyl NUGGLIFE set commission for a collector. This project helps you view the characters in a 3D world. But I had to illustrate this world in order to put the story together. So by producing a painting in a hyper animation style I can let peoples imagination have something to feed of off. Now you can start to see the story viewed in my head piece by piece. This is my first print ever to be released. Also this painting is the first of an on going series of my NUGGLIFE world that illustrates my custom vinyl figures. - Ian Ziobrowski

Make sure to visit our 2012 NYCC booth (#3121) in October where Ian Ziobrowski will be exhibiting every day!
