Jumbo Machinders customized with Monster Kolor paint

by

Look at some Monster Kolor eye candy and listen to a bunch of guys at a barbeque explain the Matrix movies in way too much detail.

JFury custom DragonBallZ and Triumph customs

by
Vegeta from DragonBallZ
JFury is further expanding his repertoire with thes two commissions done for a KR boardie:

Here are my latest customs, they were commissions from a KR boardie and they were a lot of fun to do. I personally have never seen a episode of dragon ball z but it was a fun character to do and the Foomi was a perfect platform for it. And who doesn't like Triumph the insult dog!

Let it be known: JFury will now rock your DBZ custom commission. Contact him here.

OsirisOrion custom Mickey Mouse for PlayImaginative

by
I can't tell you how much I love OsirisOrion's paint work. It's mind-blowing. This is his custom Mickey Mouse for the PlayImaginative show. Sick, deep metallic color. Heavy clearcoat makes the paint look so deep that you can dive into it like a swimming pool. Everything he paints looks amazing. Check out this album he has on Flickr. It's just amazing. That's all.

Leecifer x Plaseebo Tropical Night Gamer

by
LEECIFER "in cahoots with" Plaseebo
"The Greater Tropical Night Gamer" custom edition by Lee "LEECIFER" Gajda is a 7 inch high vinyl Night Gamer which has been hand painted and embellished. This figure is limited to 8 pieces and has glass eye inserts and a motion activated LED unit inside the head, as well as Black Light action.

Thought to be primarily equatorial inhabitants, it's quite rare to see one in Northern climes. These shy and reclusive creatures are easily recognizable by their organically geometric markings, bright coloration, and vestigial wings/ear tufts. Seemingly evoking the oceanic opulence of coral reef patterns and crystal blue waters with a body equally inspired by lush vibrant foliage and the plumage of the rarest of topical birds. Their true beauty can only be appreciated in hand when it's possible to examine the subtle hues of metallic golds, coppers and other reflective colors adorning their skin. An additional epidermal surprise awaits when one exploits the Greater Tropical Night Gamer's fascination for UV/black lights revealing hints of almost incandescent phosphorescent coloration. This small flutter of 8 was lured stateside by Bob Conge and Lee "Leecifer" Gajda for selective collector adoption.

M'Ickey custom Mickey Mouse by alarment for PlayImaginative

by
Allan Armenta (aka alarment) shares with us an excellent custom Mickey figure, which he did for the Play Imaginative showcase of their Mickeys. Nicely textured sculpting and detailed paint make this one an extremely well-executed custom! Little dude looks like he's at the end of his rope. Just so all of you know, they way this custom looks is how I feel inside 80% of the time.
Check out more alarment work here.

JonPaul Kaiser show at Yoyamart on Oct 11

by
Our friend JonPaul Kaiser is going to leap across the pond in October and run wild in the streets of Manhattan. Be warned. October 11, Toy2R has foolishly invited JPK to invade Yoyamart, a fashion and style trendsetting boutique on Gansevoort Street, where he will not doubt blow every single mind that walks through the door. Literally.

No, sorry, I meant figuratively. JPK is a giant, amazingly sweet man who I am very proud to call a friend. His talents really need no introduction. He understands form and composition, and his steady hands have brought to life some of the most brilliant custom toys that ever sold in 3.5 milliseconds at our NYCC booth. I'm stoked to meet up with JPK again. We can all expect to see beautiful Toy2R production toys, as well as custom toys, by JPK at this show.

Oct. 11th, by the way, is the opening day/preview night of NYCC 2012, so any of you in town for the Con will be able to scoot easily over to Yoyamart, which is on the west side, reasonably close to the Javits Center. See y'all there.

The Candy-Coated Custom Show in NYC April 21

by
At this point, having already received a piece in the mail from Jon Malmstedt, and with Rich Page's piece already making the rounds on Spanky Stokes, I'd like to announce our upcoming custom toy show: The Candy-Coated Custom Show

This will be a group, themed custom show (no specific platform), taking place at The London Candy Company in our neighborhood on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The themes of this show, in a nod to the location, are candy and/or Britain. We've invited a talented group of artists, many of which will be present at the opening night party on Saturday, April 21 from 7 to 9 pm.

The London Candy Company is located at 1442 Lexington Ave, at the corner of 94th Street. You can get there easily by subway, taking the 6 train to the 96th Street stop and walking up the hill up Lexington Ave. If you're driving in, there are a number of parking lots and garages in the area in addition to street parking.

Everyone is invited! Refreshments will be provided, and there will of course be PLENTY of awesome British candy in the shop. StrongTreeImages.com will provide photography for the event, so come looking swanky! And for you party animals, there will be an afterparty starting at 9pm at ABV back down the hill at Lexington Ave and 97th Street. ABV serves beer, wine and food and I think they'll do a draught beer special for us.

This is a big deal for us. This is Tenacious Toys' first custom toy show, and as far as I know, this will be the first custom toy show on the Upper East Side.

Here's our artist roster for the show:

• Mike "NEMO" Mendez
• Nasty Neil (Wasted Talent)
• Den "Mr.Den" Ramos
• Giannina Gutierrez
• southerndrawl
• Rampage Toys
• Scott Kinnebrew

• Foox
• Evilos
• ZAM
• Rsin
• Squink!
• JC Rivera

For more info on The London Candy Company, visit their website and be sure to LIKE their Facebook page. (And, of course, LIKE the Tenacious Toys page as well!) We'll make an event on Facebook soon for this party so you can spread the invite around. We will also be posting as many customs as possible in an online preview just before the show opens. Pieces will be for sale at the opening, and they will remain in The London Candy Company shop for 2 weeks after the opening.

Hope to see all of you at the April 21 party!
